We bought some sets of these a couple of years ago, and we love them. We are both designers and appreciate quality and function as highly as form. These excel in all regards. Each piece is a tiny exquisite sculpture, and the quality is unwaveringly perfect. I can't say why the other reviewer here got such lousy quality, but ours are flawless. Perhaps there are some crappy Chinese knock-offs being sold out there? Everyone who stops to appreciate them comments on how unique and beautiful they are. Our teenage son (who is in design school now too) says the forks are too narrow and the soup spoons to wide. I agree, but can live with these facts easily. If you are wanting to cram a load of chow in your mouth, then don't use the forks, use a soup spoon! HA! Really, the slender forks are so graceful and usable that I love using them, and they slow us down a tad which can only be healthy! Just look at how every single surface is carefully designed and finished. I love how the perfectly circular spoon blends smoothly to the handle. The knives are perfection. In the hand you will wonder why we don't make all knives this shape. In fact there is a line of kitchen knives by Porsche Design that DO have these handles, in a more masculine but fully effective treatment. Look them up and try one. It's a favorite of mine. Design matters. Quality is contagious. Catch it and never look back.

This set was a winner at the 1997 edition of Good Design Int'l Competition. Gerald Gulotta managed, with this project, to bring minimalism to everyone's dinner table. Leveraging reinforcing synergies between form and function, this set will serve your most aesthetically endowed guests as well as your every day's needs.

Each piece of this set is a play of round shapes - hence Rondure. The spoons are perfect circles. The perfectly balanced knives are made of a single piece whose ends seem to be turned round in orthogonal planes - imagine the 1/4 turn of a screw. Finally, the forks' interiors seem to be slightly rounded. Unfortunately, there is no stylistic continuity across the whole Rondure line of products.

As additional suggestion, for an ultimate visual impact, pair this set with contemporary-styled porcelain (Sasaki, Rosenthal, Mikasa, etc.).

We purchased eight five-piece place settings and two serving sets over two years ago. We simply can't say enough about them. We looked far and wide for simple, affordable, dependable flatware with ROUND spoons. Well, we finally found them and we have yet to be disappointed. They hold up extremely well to daily use, young children pounding away at them, going through the dishwasher, and are perfect for when we have guests over.

And if that isn't enough for you, the beauty of these pieces transcends generational boundaries. My mother-in-law fell in love with them immediately and she remembered them two years after first seeing them and just asked to receive them as a Christmas/house warming present.

I had high hopes for this tableware when I ordered it (not from Amazon btw) based on this review and other reviews of Dansk and the quality. Well boy was I let down when I received the 10 sets - the spoons were mostly not round and had a combination of flat spots along the edges which made them irregular, varying thickness of the edges, various peices had rough spots/edges that were not polished, pitting/cuts in surfaces, scratches, and the just about all the spoons 'drooped down along the bottom adding to the overall distorted looking circles.

My husband and I really like the design and I wanted to find a way to keep it. I tried contacting Dansk several times about a solution, suggested replacing the worst of the pieces individually since the boxes of individual place settings seemed doomed to have problems, but in spite of the message "a customer service representative will respond in 24 hours" I never got a response. Seems that they do not care that their quality is failing miserably nor do they care about customer service at all.

Sorry to say that it looks like I will be forced to return the Dansk :( , buy at your own risk.

I have had this flatware for about 5 years and really enjoy using it. My entire set is flawless. The round teaspoon is a bit odd shape in the mouth, but I can live with that part. I am wondering if the person who noted poor quality in the crafting of the pieces bought a set that was made in korea. I do not know where mine was made though. I note amazon has two ads on another site for rondure. They both have different ASIN numbers and only one of them has written the original model number of the set, and it does not list where it was made. The other amazon site listed that it was made in korea, and did not have any model number - in fact, they had no model number written. That makes me think the one they listed as made in korea is a copy - could that be it? I am now looking to buy a few more sets, and will be careful as to what i buy and will try to find out more so I do not buy inferiorly crafted pieces.

This is a nice set of flatware. The only cons is that the spoons are a little big.

I got this set because it is seemingly impossible to get good quality 18/10 soup spoons in america. What I really wanted was a classic dining 7 piece set which includes Dinner Fork, Salad/Desert Fork, Dinner Knife, Salad/Desert knife, Dinner Spoon, Soup spoon & Tea Spoon. This is standard in European flatware sets, but in America standard is 5 pieces and you don't get a soup spoon. My other option was to buy soup spoons seperately- but they were all less than 18/10 quality. Found great sets on Amazon UK only to find that they don't ship to the US. So as a compromise I got the Dansk Rondure, whose dinner spoon resembles more that of a soup spoon. I'm pleased with the set I received. The round tea spoon is a bit awkward, but I like it. The thing I dislike most about this set is that the name of the company is too clearly branded on the backs of all the pieces. I Think this takes away from the appeal of it's look. The branding is not on the stem even, it's on the back of the face of each utensil meaning you put the print in your mouth each time you use it. I'm hoping the printing is done with safe chemicals.

My husband and I spent hours deliberating over silverware patterns at Bed, Bath & Beyond, and we finally ended up choosing this one as a middle ground between his modern tastes and my traditional tastes. After using them, I'm extremely impressed with this design. It looks beautiful on the table!! But the best discovery thus far is that the round teaspoon makes a perfect egg separator! The knife design took some getting used to, but it is comfortable in the hand when cutting food on the plate. Overall, we are very happy with our new silverware! And if you don't happen to own an egg separator (I believe Tupperware sold them at some point because my mother had one for years), try out the teaspoon and see what you think! :) Buy this pattern.. you won't be disappointed. The quality is superb!!
