4.0 out of 5 stars Nice product but...
Make sure that you are following the instructions for this product. The description notes that you can use these on your wrists for walking, so take note that you basically cannot use them on your wrists for anything but that. They are adjustable, so they will probably fit your wrists, but they are too big to do anything like punching or high impact exercise without them...

3.0 out of 5 stars Designed for teens and small people.
I have a wrist that is 7" around. The edges of this product just touch as I try to wrap it around my wrist and I can't attach or use it. Be sure your wrist is only 6" or so before buying. Appears sturdily made and I plan to keep and try to adapt with elastic straps in order to use.

The description notes that you can use these on your wrists for walking, so take note that you basically cannot use them on your wrists for anything but that. They are adjustable, so they will probably fit your wrists, but they are too big to do anything like punching or high impact exercise without them slipping all over the place. So you can use them on your wrists for walking, but nothing else. They fit my ankles fine, but when I've done kickboxing or other high impact exercise, sometimes it feels like they might come off. I think these are great for low-impact exercise, but you might want to go with something else for high-impact.

4.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I was expecting., August 25, 2006
This review is from: Danskin Wrist/Ankle Weights (Sports)
Product is very good in comparison with competitors.. much softer and after 10 minutes of workout- you forget that they are on your wrists... only negative point- a bit too short around the wrist, but as I understand- they are designed for women anyway :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Serve their purpose, but are tight, September 18, 2008

I'd have to agree with the other reviewers who indicate that these run on the small side. I have smaller wrists and can wear them, but they are tight. They do have a little stretch to them, but not a lot. In case you miss it in the product description, the weight is 2 pounds total, which means only 1 pound on each wrist.

2.0 out of 5 stars Filled with steel pellets that rust over time, October 1, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Danskin Wrist/Ankle Weights (Sports)
I have had these wrist weights for at least 2-3 years and use them when I do my walking workouts outside. They are great wrist weights, as far as that goes, and I've never had any problem with the fit. The problem I have is that they, of course, absorb perspiration as I work out and become very smelly and gross and require periodic washings. I just learned from the manufacturer that they are NOT to be washed!! Who would ever design a product for working out that could not be washed?? Anyway, they started exuding a rust-colored substance a while ago and the last time I washed them by hand, therefore making them very wet, I tossed them in the clothes dryer for about 20 min to get rid of some of the moisture so I could use them. The entire inside of the dryer was splattered with that orangish, rust-colored stuff and required me to completely wiped down ever surface of the dryer interior to avoid having that all over my next load of laundry. I was finally able to speak with someone at the manufacturer of this product (not Danskin, actually, but they referred me on to the manufacturer) and they confirmed that the weights are in fact filled with steel pellets. Apparently it says on the workout schedule that comes with the weights that the weights can only be surface washed but that packaging has long since vanished in my house. Surface washing would not even come close to keeping these weights clean enough to be used long-term and I'm going to have to throw mine away, even though they are still perfectly functional as wrist weights. They have become gross and disgusting!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy way to increase my exercise, June 7, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Danskin Wrist/Ankle Weights (Sports)
I LOVE these one pound wrist or ankle weights! They fit securely with velcro and are very comfortable. I tried them on my wrists first and was surprized how such little weight added to my walk. Very good way to increase your exercise activity and motivate you to exercise more. Then I decided to try them on my ankles. I had read reviews that they were too small. Perhaps they are for smaller people? Just pull them around your ankles snuggly and they will catch and hold to the velcro.
I walked over 2 miles wearing them under jeans and they never shifted or popped off. The velcro does it's job and
they were also very comfortable on my ankles too. Well made, stays put, and increase of exercise is noticed.
I highly recommend them! I am a 54 year old woman and had no trouble using these and enjoying them.

I was a bit worried when I ordered these because of all the reviews saying they were too small and when I first opened them, thought they would be (too small) but after trying them on, I realized that in order to have them fit comfortably when using them, it needed to be a snug fit! So, you do have to pull a bit to put them on but then they don't slip around when you are exercising. So, they work great =)

1.0 out of 5 stars way too small for a small woman's wrist, March 23, 2010

These are tiny--way too small for my wrists. I'm a small woman at 4"11' and 115 lbs. If they don't fit me, they won't fit anybody. Maybe 0 starts would be a better choice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Workhorse ankle weights, February 28, 2010

I use these as wrist weights to build upper body strength while walking and hula-hooping, and they are very effective. My physical therapist gave me several exercises to do with these weights to re-hab from shoulder surgery and they work well through the exercises. I sweat in them a lot during workouts, but they are easily surface-washable -- so they are holding up well. Because I use them on my wrists, I would like the velcro to close a little bit narrower, but I've been able to work with them as they are.
