I wanted to work out using the "Body for Life for Women" weight lifting program for upper body. However, most of the exercises require a weight bench so not having alot of space and already having a family room that hosts a balance ball, exercise bike, stepper and DDR pads I put the idea out of my mind.

But when the New Year rang in and my body was starting to look less than firm I knew I had to do something to get my fanny in gear. I took another look at the benches on the market and was surprised to see how small the Danskin Space Saver Bench was. The reviews on it were great, the price reasonable and when I noted that Amazon was offering free super saver shipping I took the plunge and ordered.

The bench arrived in a large box. After unpacking it, I found that it was pretty easy to handle at only 30 pounds. Unfortunately my bench arrived with a broken foot pad, but a call to a friendly Debbie at customer service resulted in a new one that was easily popped on.

The bench is about 11 inches wide and 41 inches long, and I wasn't sure if it would hold alot of weight but another friendly rep, Donna told me it held a 250 person who was bench pressing 200 pounds! Thats a lot of weight! And despite its small size it's very comfortable.

The bench is attractive, durable and feels secure. It changes positions easily so if you are trying to get in your sets with a variety of exercises you can quickly change it from a flat bench to a tilted or upright one. The padded cushions are comfortable. If I was making it, I would probably make it black for a more modern look but the dark tan color is fine.

Overall I am really pleased with this purchase and look for a toned body with a little help from my sleek new bench!

I always wanted to have my own workout in my apartment. Since space if very limited in apartments, this has worked out great! It has 4 different positions so that you can workout as if you are acutally in gym all while watching your favorite tv shows or with a friend on speaker phone. Combine it with the 5-in 1 weight set and it will make the perfect minigym for any small space. I gave it 4 instead of 5 starts because my bed sits really low and I had some trouble finding a place to store it in. Closet works fine!

Great product. Perfect for my workouts. No assembly. Folds open and close, so you can store in closet or under bed when not in use. Very sturdy.

This is a great weight bench that slides neatly under my bed after use. It adjusts to 4 positions, including a decline, and is very sturdy and comfortable - I'ts definitely perfect for women. My only issue with it concerns cosmetics and not functionality: The bar that enables the bench to be adjusted to its various positions sits metal on metal when the bench is folded for storage. It's a small issue, I know, but it's really a nice looking bench and I didn't like the idea that the paint was being scratched. I affixed a piece of rubber where the 2 metal pieces touch and that seems to have fixed the problem. Aside from the cosmetic issue, this bench is absolutley a great purchase!

It says on the box..Designed and Engineered for women. It also works for guys. This bench is perfect. I don't have a lot of space so the fold up feature is great. Works and built just as well as the non fold up $200 bench. The best thing about this bench is that it comes fully asembled! It is built very nice. For $79 plus free shipping you can't beat this. It really is a great deal. Very happy with purchase.

I've been working on with this bench for a few weeks now, and it's a great purchase! The bench really is nicely proportioned for women. I'm on the shorter side (not quite 5' 4"), and I find that when I use the weight benches at the gym, my legs never quite touch the floor when doing certain moves, such as when lying on my back. With this bench, I've had no problems at all. It's sturdy, and easy to maneuver into all four positions. A great buy!

The only drawback is that you really can't use the decline position because there is nothing holding your feet and preventing you from sliding headfirst into the floor, esp. if you are lifting heavy (30lbs and up) dumbbells. Instead what will happen is that you'll end up bending the tip of the bench which is not well supported---the back of the cushion seems to be made of cardboard rather than plywood or metal like the more expensive benches. I may have to improvise by putting the bench in front of a door with a sit-up bar on the bottom to hold my feet down.

Other than that, I love this thing---excellent bang for your buck (I got the fifty dollar gray version at The Evil Empire a.k.a. Walmart), and despite its female-oriented advertising (no picture of men using it on the box) this is a suprisingly stable/sturdy bench by design. Much more so than the eighty dollar Weider bench I just sold off at a garage sale for ten bucks, which did have a functional decline position but was wobbly as heck and didn't fold!

Yep, its ability to folded up is priceless, that's the only way I got it to pass the WAF (Wife Approval Factor) test since we don't have a dedicated exercise room, LOL.

Will update after a month or two of regular use, to see how it holds up.

I purchased this bench for my wife. The size and fit is perfect for her small frame. I have used this bench without any problems. Nice solid construction at a good price.

I just bought this bench's prettier twin sister, called the Danskin Now Fitness Bench, from Walmart.com for about $20 less and in the nicer workout-equipment color of grey. From what I can tell, they appear to be identical. I live in a 1 BR condo, so part of my living room has been converted to a home gym. This is perfect because it folds up and can be stuffed in a corner behind my folding screen with the rest of my workout equipment. I like it because of it's multiple positions and easy storage. Ideally, I would prefer more of a sturdier and wider bench with firmer padding, but this does the trick just fine.

I'm 5'10" but this bench is still a great size...durable. This isn't a cheaply made bench.
