I have six pairs of Dansko clogs, full back and backless, oiled, patent and nubuck leather. I absolutely love them, there's nothing more comfortable (which is why they are popular among nurses and other professionals who are on their feet all day). HOWEVER....Dansko provides their merchants with a size chart which is NOT ACCURATE for women's sizes. I am usually a women's size 11, which according to their chart would be a size 41. Not so. I take a 43 in these shoes. And if you look at their size charts where they list men's AND women's sizes, you'll see how impossible the numbers are. Size 43 is listed as men's 9.5-10 or women's 12.5-13. No way these two could be equivalent. So do try on some Danskos BEFORE you order online, save yourself the bother of having to exchange them.

Amazon does NOT sell real Danskos. I bought a pair of Danskos from Amazon. They were ok for the first month and then they started to crack on the top over the toe area. About 5 months out I called Dansko and they said they would replace them since that is not standard wear. They asked where I bought them and told them Amazon. I was then informed that Amazon is NOT a licensed dealer and Dansko could do nothing for me. I called Amazon- They told me to call the manufacture. I told them I did, amazon said if they can't help you we can't either. After I brought up the fact that Amazon is not a licensed dealer they returned my money. I bought new Danskos from a licensed dealer and there are differences in the shoes Amazon sells as Danskos and the Danskos I bought from a dealer! Just thought I would let you know what I have learned!

This Is my third pair of Dansko's. My first pair is 4 years old and doesn't even look worn out. I have fibromyalgia and can walk in NYC all day. A few weeks ago i walked 46 blocks and my feet weren't the least bit tired. These are wonderful!

This shoe from Dansko ( now made in China ) was Not available . so I agreed to the Sanita ( original Dansko per seller & made in Europe ) which was in stock .
Out of the box , it looked exactly like the picture but the beauty ended there .
I own over a dozen size 10s but Not any Danskos and do have a rule Never to buy a brand by mail or internet that I do not already own or have tried on . I broke this rule to buy this shoe and Re-learned a very pricy lesson . ( $20+ for return shipping and restocking fees ) Although they list as a 9.5 - 10 , which indicates a 9.5 could wear a sock and the 10 would be barefoot or a nylon , this shoe can Not be worn by a 10 . I was barely able to get my foot in and there was serious rubbing on the toes when I actually moved . There would have been blisters in no time . The 9.5 may be able to wear them barefoot but the stiff upper and hard plastic heel liner would still make it an ugly experience .
The possible use for this shoe is as a wet weather shoe with heavy socks but you will need to buy them 2 sizes larger .
1 week later I bought pair of Dr Scholls 9.5 that fit wonderfully and I wear for hours without any blister issues .
I did notice that the Euro sizing on his was 2 points higher than listed on the other 9.5 - 10 .
Maybe the Dansko / Sanita manufacturer has size conversion issues from Euro to US ?
Try this shoe on in the store BEFORE you buy .

These clogs are so much fun- I have received many compliments on them. Like my other Dansko clogs, they are comfortable and sturdy. However, in spite of the fact that I have six other Dansko professional clogs of the same size in different colors, these are borderline too big (I have to wear thick socks when I wear them). While the footbed/sole is the same size as my other clogs, the upper is larger and slightly overlaps the front of the shoe. It is hard to say why this size variability exists- it is a widely acknowledged problem across the women's fashion industry. Companies like Dansko have been known for their quality and consistancy over the years and I hope their manufacturing processes will continue to reflect that.

When my first pair of Dansko leopard clogs came in the mail I was so excited! I put them on the next morning for work. I noticed instantly that although they did look great with my scrubs, one shoe fit tighter than the other. By the middle of my work day my feet were killing me! The shoe that was snug was way too uncomfortable to bear. I noticed myself trying to sit whenever possible and slip my foot out of it to relieve the pain I was feeling. The discomfort I felt was right along the side of my baby toe, and foot. As I sit here and type this review I am literally wearing my new clogs with two pairs of my boyfriends socks just to stretch the snug one out a bit. This is sad! Way too much money to have to go thru this! If i could do it again I'd either pay a lil more and buy them in a retail store to knw what I was getting, or just buy another pair of Nike's. Please think about it before buying!!!!!!!!!

i had these shoes for almost a yr but then they cracked at the bend of my foot, on top. ps the sizing is small. u should have a full finger space btwn ur heel and the shoe to be comfortable and these also run narrow.

I wear a size 10 sneaker and I have pretty narrow feet. I went to two different stores in my area that sell these Danskos and tried on several pairs in both a 41 and a 42. I have tried on maybe around 20 pairs, and not one pair was exactly like another.. All Danskos are hand stretched so they are all unique in fit. I could not find any I liked in the stores. It seemed I'd get a perfect 41 for my right foot, but the left was too tight and my big toe was hitting the end. The 42's fit my left foot good but was too loose on my right. etc etc etc.. Then I decided to order a 41 on Amazon. No luck with the first two pairs. I then asked Amazon for a refund and bought a 42. The first 42 was a little to stretched over the top and felt like I might lose a shoe when walking fast. The second FINALLY fit like a charm. (Thanks to Amazon's wonderful return policy) Once you find a pair that fits good, GET IT! It might be a pain, but it is worth it. I get through 8 hour days and my feet no longer feel terrible! These shoes are fantastic, everyday shoes. I wear them to shop, run errands etc.. And the patent leather gives them attitude. They do run big so I would recommend getting a half size smaller unless you are wearing with heavy socks.

I love the style of these shoes, they match so many different scrub outfits. The only thing I don't like is the patent leather can get a hole in it or puncture from sharp objects, etc. Next time I won't purchase the patent leather style.
