This new pair replaces my "first" pair purchased in 2001, they are worth the price and a very good investment.
They fit perfectly and are so comfortable.
This is my second pair of Danskos, but first pair puchased online and I love them as much as the first pair!

    About Dansko
When wife and husband team, Mandy Cabot and Peter Kjellerup discovered their perfect barn shoe in a tiny shop in Denmark, they just had to share the shoes with their friends. When their friends tried them on, they told their friends. And just like that, a shoe company was born. Today, Dansko sells… Read the story & more in Amazon's Dansko Store.

I was confused and shocked at how uncomfortable these shoes were, after having worn and loved Dansko brand for many years. I found out that the company changed manufacturers (made in China now) and the quality of both fit and comfort is so much more obviously underpar....I literally could not believe how these shoes could pinch and hurt my feet so much in one evening! I mean, we are not talking about high fashion platform shoes here.

I have attached this info from the Sanita shoe website(the old Danish company that USED to make Dansko clogs):

"For many years Sanita manufactured clogs for Dansko. The Sanita and Dansko relationship ended in the Fall 2007. Since then, all Sanita manufactured products sold in the USA have been sold exclusively under the Sanita brand."

There you have it. Save your money and your feet. Sanita still makes clogs, thank goodness. Dansko on the other hand...same high price, but NOT the same shoes.

The only reason I put 2 stars is because they still look kind of cute.

I love the look of these shoes. However, I tried them on before I ordered at a store them and the normal size 42 that I wear (in the 4 pair of oiled leather) I already own, they were huge (when I kicked my foot they flew off), had to down a size to 41, they did get scuffed really easily, and it does take a few days to get used to them and "mold them to your own feet, but all in all a good shoe. I personally love the oiled leather ones I have. The size thing was kind of weird though. The lady at the store where I tried them on said that they are all hand made and can be a little different in fit, but you shouldn't be able to kick your normal size off your foot. I did some investigating about this and found out that Dansko and Sanita basically broke off their relationship in 2008 and Sanita the original company that started making this clog in 1907ish makes the same clogs that I originally bought before 2008 and that Dansko was the US company making them here for Sanita. Dansko has "redesigned" their clog it in a bit wider and has more of a curved heel, they call them innovation's. Long story short there is more info @ [...] look under Dansko Vs. Sanita. If you want the original Stapled clog made before 2008, buy the Sanita. If you want to try the newly innovated clog buy the Dansko. The only difference I can see is that you would probably have to go down a size in the shoe (to avoid kicking them off or sliding right out of them:)

While I think these are as comfortable as my other Dansko clogs, the toes are scuffed after only a few weeks of wear. I wouldn't buy these again.

I admit that I was hesitant about buying these at first - and even considered returning them, because I wear more classic shoes/heels and these seemed a bit 'Frankenstein-ish' to me. But I often have to stand for several hours at work and walk a lot. I had been wearing Aerosoles (flats), but found that my high arches were not getting enough support and my legs would hurt hours later. Also, many of my business slacks are very long and made to wear with heels, so I was finding that on the days that I had to stand, I had limited options in terms of what to wear and still look professional. Sounds silly, but that's the truth. I wanted something with comfort/arch support and lift. These are great for the weekends, too, when I'm running errands and want to wear jeans (which also run long), but not have to resort to wearing heels. I chose this black tooled leather because I wanted it to look like a hint of a Western boot peeking under my pant cuffs. I can't adequately describe how unbelievably comfortable these are! I sometimes get home and don't even want to take them off because I miss feeling that nice support under my arches. I even keep them on in the kitchen when I cook (like the chefs do). I'm now thinking about getting another pair in a different style/color. Seriously, these are unlike any comfort shoe I've ever worn before. If I could give these sturdy 'clogs' 10 stars, I would.

This brand was recommended to me by fellow teachers who are on their feet all day. I have been having pain in my right foot and it has disappeared since wearing the Dansko. The only draw back is the brown dye seems to be fading on the toes.

This is my third pair of these shoes & I have always been a huge fan. The Right shoe is messed up & missing staples. I didn't notice this until after I got to work & have already been wearing them :( Not happy

I have loved every pair of these clogs... Until now. The quality of dansko has taken a dive. I wore these shoes twice and the seam busted! Definitely returning these and buying a different brand.

The Dansko brand came recommended to me from many friends. I have chronic patellofemoral syndrome (knee cap won't track properly), and I still continue my active lifestyle. I have low/no arches, and have been wearing my gym shoes to work. I got a pair of these and I have to tell you I'm in love! It's like a little massage on my feet. I would recommend to those reviewers who are too lazy to return a pair that does not fit to NOT give bad reviews because you don't want to return them. You do a disservice to Amazon as well as to Dansko. I'm going to get another pair of these shoes!
