These boots are super-cute but totally unforgiving. They run true to size, but will only be comfortable if your feet are the right shape. My feet are a little bit wide, with a high arch and high instep. Unfortunately, my foot's arch is not quite where the arch in the boot is. And the top of my foot was a little too "tall" for the boot.

As another reviewer mentioned, the leather is very stiff. It's unlikely that you could break them in to better fit your feet. And the top of boot did chafe a little bit against my shin, but that wasn't the biggest problem.

So... cute as they are, I had to return them. Even if you have other Danskos that fit well, I suggest that you try these on in person before you order them.

I bought these recently for a trip to Seattle since I needed a comfortable walking shoe with boot-like appeal (rain and all). My sister purchased the taller knee high boots and was having difficulty breaking them in (never had to break in a pair of Dansko's before so was surprised). I noticed these had more of the traditional Dansko cushion than hers so I tried them on and it was love at first foot fall! Trust me...you'll love these! No blisters, no sore feet, and feet felt wonderful at the end of the day! Look great with a pair of jeans too.

I purchased these boots despite the negative commentary regarding the quality of the boot. I had faith that Dansko would never put their name on an inferior product and perhaps the negative reviews were anomalies. Unfortunately, I have to agree with the negative reviewers.

The boot's leather quality was awful - it was hard, plastic-like, and absolutely uncomfortable. It felt like I had purchased $9.99 fake leather boots from Walmart. Interestingly, inside the boot where the size was stamped I found a manufacture date of 11th May 2009. I purchased these in November 2010. I have returned these boots and have since found the exact same boot (with current 2010 manufacture date) at a major department store. The leather on these boots is soft, supple, and true to Dansko quality. So beware and check the manufacture date on your boots! With the "newer" boots I agree with the positive reviewers and find this to be a fantastic, stylish, and comfortable boot.

I was really excited to get these boots (and delighted with the 2 day (regular delivery!) span between placing my order and getting the boots. But I was SO disappointed that the boots didn't fit! The leather was so tough so as to feel like it was actually fake and it was super inflexible. Also - the width was surprisingly narrow (especially for Dansko). All in all - I suggest trying these on in a store before buying. Am going to get the Sonja clogs in black instead (I already know how well they fit).

I love these shoes,I have very sensetive legs and feet.After standing all day as a hairstylist for over 15yrs my legs would tire and ache easily.I purchased these boots and I wear them everyday,soon I will be purchasing a flat heeled shoe just for working in the yard.If you have any doubts about purchasing these because of the price..don't it will be the best investment you can make for your feet and legs!The size you normally wear will be fine,I have a little extra room but not enough to cause wearing problems.

Terrific, comfortable, and stylish. Bought them this weekend and wore them all day today walking around NYC. These are a comfort and style staple.

I work on my feet all day and i love these boots and they look great with your favorite jeans. I have two pair of dansko clogs but when i walk my heels slides up the back because i'm in between sizes but these fit great!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got these boots in 12/2009. I have a bunion on one foot, but otherwise my feet are quite narrow. So, I am a little fussy to fit. If shoes are marginally comfortable, I sometimes sadly will not really "get it" till hours or a few wears later. I have lots of shoes in my closet I don't wear. These boots are incredibly comfortable. My job involves significant walking. I used to wear comfortable boots and carry shoes. These boots allow me to wear them while walking to work, and they look nice enough with dress slacks to often keep them on all day. They are spectacular. And though not pointy-toed and what I think of as high style, I get lots of compliments on them. I love them and highly recommend them!

I read all of the other reviews before purchasing these boots, and was hesitant. I am a teacher and my feet are always sore at the end of the day, so I was looking for a comfortable shoe or boot. Many people recommended Dansko clogs to me, but I did not want that style. So I found these boots and ordered them. Other people commented on the stiff leather rubbing their shins. The leather is stiff, but I wear socks that come halfway up my calf, so it has not been a problem for me. Like the Dansko clogs, these boots are loose in the heel, but they are very tight across the top of my foot (my feet are not wide - I always wear average width shoes without this problem). Also like the clogs, the bed of the shoe is very hard, but very supportive. I love the arch support. My feet are not sore at the end of the day and that was my primary goal. I wear these boots pretty much every day - they are more comfortable than my tennis shoes. The boots are cute enough, although they are kind of clunky, not sleek. But this is the best compromise I have found between fashion and function. My expectations were very high because of the price, but overall, I am happy with the boots.

I bought these boots, and they were perfect right out of the box. If I had one thing to say about them the leather where it hits the shinbone is a little stiff, and can create a blister if socks are not above.
