For the modern-classical fan., March 3, 2001

I watched this movie in a Science class(we were studying volcanoes which is what Dante's Peak is about), and the gothic, dreary music caught my attention. Many days later I finally broke down and bought the soundtrack(mainly to stop the theme song from repeating itself over and over again in my head). John Frizzel (composer) is very much similar to John Williams (Star Wars, ET, Indiana Jones) just not as well known. If you like John Williams, you love this CD. The music is upbeat, exciting; it creates mental images in your head. You can actually get the feel of a volcano, of something big. My pulse actually speeds up when the tempo speeds up. It's very soothing at the same time, and I find it helps me to sleep. For the all around music fan this CD is a must.
