Beautiful Acoustics,
By A Customer
This review is from: Danza de Amor (Audio CD)
The first time I ever heard this album was when I walked into a Sharper Image store. They always play music that they sell, but this time I was totally amazed. The acoustic spanish music is some of the most beautiful ever, but the Festival of Four give you a tour around the globe of Latin countries playing in their style, you must hear this CD if you are into acoustic guitars!

I also heard this music while browsing the CD's at Sharper Image.I like to listen Latin accoustics and unlike other artists who plays fusion, this Festival of Four plays a vibrant selection of Latin (except Habibe) standard hits. If you like Latin accoustics like Flamenco, this is for your listening ears.

You couldn't pry this album from my hands!,

I first heard this album in a Sharper Image store around Christmas a couple of years ago. The moment I heard it, I had to have a copy. While most albums have a couple of really good cuts, several pretty good ones, and a few that don't do much for me, this album doesn't have a single cut that I don't like. The melodies, the arrangements, and the musicianship are all first-rate. I've played this album at least a couple of hundred times and yet I never tire of it. My own favorite on the album Danza de Amor is one of the most hauntingly beautiful pieces I've ever heard. My only complaints are that: 1) they haven't produced any additional ablums and 2) they haven't performed in Cincinnati so that my girlfriend and I could hear them in person. This album is, in a word, SUPERB!

Vivianna has incredible peformance skills...she knows how to make the music come alive. You have to listen to how she makes the flute "speak"..especially with her amazing flutter-tongue technique. Vivianna's interpretaion is masterful!! You won't be disappointed!!

Music that captivates you in a torrent of fire!,
By William Ashley Cooper (Allentown, Pa United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Danza de Amor (Audio CD)
I discovered this hotbed of music while spending delightful hourson Viviana Guzman's website. After looking over the selections of CD releases she has offered I picked this one for the firey flamenco style music that is offered. Viviana's flute playing intensifies this music both with her dynamic performance within the group of Festival 4 and for her captivating beauty that crowns the whole ensemble. When the CD arrived I was eager to hear it ASAP but had to settle for the wee hours of 2AM-4AM to do so. Its those wee hours when all is quiet that my mind was able to totally evelope the essence of the soulfull sonority that can be found on the collection. Once I began listening to this music a fire soon lit up in the darkened chamber about 3AM. I found myself being consumed in a danse of flames de amor. Wonderful visions ensued! "Yemaya" the Brazilian melody was worth the price of the CD just by itself. I could easily push the repeat button on the CD player and listen to this piece for a long time. "La Paloma" touched me softly and refreshed my memory that I had used the touching Mexican melody in a composition of my own back in the mid 1970's. If you like your music to be tantalizing and hot then this CD will set a fire going within you. All four musicians are excellent and fuse together a powerful sound and surely a fantastic sight if you get a chance to see them as well. |
