4.0 out of 5 stars As expected
This is a solid product at a good price. I installed only a month ago, so I cannot say much about its longevity. This is what I needed in a solid metal drain assembly to replace the 30+ year old one in my master bath sink.

3.0 out of 5 stars Could use some tweaking.
I ordered a 1-1/2" pop up. I double checked all my paperwork, etc. It sure was for a 1-1/2" unit. They shipped a 1-1/4" unit. Problem is, before it got to the point of being installed and the mistake discovered, it was sent out to get silver plated, because the main pipe was brass, visually exposed in the installation, and we wanted a look to match chrome. I know I...

This review is from: Danze D495002RB Metal Pop-Up Drain Assembly with Lift Rod and Overflow, Oil Rubbed Bronze (Tools & Home Improvement)
Works as advertised, was easy to install. Has held up well. Would buy from this manufacturer and vendor again. No leaks or slow drain. Plug held water in sink. Water release lever was smooth.

These are standard-sized parts, but solidly made. I won't be able to grade how the finish holds up for a few years, but it looks at least as good as the Price-Pfister parts it replaced, at a much better price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Schizzle bam bizzle, February 5, 2011

This is the part to buy - very high quality and don't have to fool with plumber's putty. Don't settle for cheaper alternatives. Used to replace original part from Home Depot that was very cheaply made and failed quickly.

I have no problems with the product.
Im not sure what went wrong with the delivery, but it was shipped to me 3 times.
Amazon.com was very cooperative in reversing the charges one one of the products when I refused it when it was shipped and they got the other one reversed back to them b4 it got to me.
Amazon.com is my favorite place to order things and this is the only time I have had a problem that I can remember.

3.0 out of 5 stars Could use some tweaking., May 23, 2011

I ordered a 1-1/2" pop up. I double checked all my paperwork, etc. It sure was for a 1-1/2" unit. They shipped a 1-1/4" unit. Problem is, before it got to the point of being installed and the mistake discovered, it was sent out to get silver plated, because the main pipe was brass, visually exposed in the installation, and we wanted a look to match chrome. I know I own half this mistake, as the box label said 1-1/4", and if I noticed it I could have returned it, but nevertheless, it would have been nice had they filled the order correctly. Now I have a silver-plated mistake. It's a beautiful looking piece now. Make sure you double check yours when you receive it. As far as the valve itself is concerned, it is pretty well made. I subtracted two stars not for the order fulfillment error, but for the poorly designed sliding chrome clip that's supposed to hold the metal strap to the chrome pop-up lever rod. It won't stay in place. It easily slips back and forth on the rod after being installed, and fails to securely hold a position. I've seen this problem once before on another manufacturer's unit, and it requires that you have to crawl under the sink every two or three weeks to put the clip back on, or cobble something together to help to keep it from working itself off, like tape or adhesive or whatever. Substitution of the Dantz clip with the new clip from the original Kohler assembly we didn't use completely cured the problem. Once the differently designed Kohler clip was in place, it couldn't be dislodged with an Exocet missile. It really grabbed onto that chrome rod. My advice to Danze: get your clips from Kohler. Everything else is fine.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not for Vessel Sinks, August 17, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I searched for a "Vessel Sink Drain" this came up. It WILL NOT Work on one and is way too small for the opening so You get leakage. There is a bigger circumferance one needed for this. My contractor took forever to get started so I am stuck with these and paid quite a bit for 2. Very unhappy with being stuck with something that won't work and want a refund.
