Customer Reviews

They fit very well--no leaks.

These work great as a layer of protection over underwear or training pants during potty training, but if you are using for this purpose, make sure to go down a size.
Alan Ivy
If I had her wear them over her underwear without pants on, they would not leak.

I am potty training my 3rd child right now. I couldn't find my old Gerber vinyl pants and had to buy all new ones. Of course I started with the Gerber pants, the new "improved" material, PEVA, is HORRIBLE!!!!!! It is loud and seems even more uncomfortable. I thought I'd give Dappi vinyl a chance; they certainly couldn't be any worse than the Gerbers. I was surprised by how wonderful these are!!! The material is soft, silent and perfectly waterproof. I love them and so does my daughter. She weighs about 22lbs and I got her the medium. They fit very well--no leaks. She wears them over the Gerber training pants (which I love) and these Dappi pants add no bulk. I will buy these from now on!

I can't vouch for how well these work to hold accidents, since I never got to use them on my daughter. I ordered the large size (which supposedly fits 26-31 pounds) because my daughter is right at 30lbs. I think *I* could get these things on! I took a photo of my daughter's size 2T/3T underwear on top of these to show that the waterproof pants are much bigger (the photo is in the customer images section).

These pants are the perfect training pants ever! Put over underwear, these hold everything in MY son's been able to "put" in them! =) No leaks at all! It only took him 2 days wearing these to FINALLY potty train, we were using "Pull-Ups" for MONTHS! (Pull-ups are a joke, didn't work for either of my 2 kids, too much like diapers!) These keep all their "stuff" trapped in, making it uncomfortable so they WANT to use the potty. I tried other brands, including Gerber, which were all cheaply made, and the Gerber ones RIPPED the first use! All of them in the pack! These are nice and thick, and the elastic didn't seem itchy at all-my son's pretty sensitive, asks me to cut out all the tags in his shirts...my only regret is buying more the day i got these in the mail, I didn't need more, they worked in TWO DAYS! =) Very happy, if I have more children, I'll definitely go straight to these, NO Pull-Ups!

I am beginning the process of potty training my 3 year old son who is approximately 32 lbs. After reading many reviews about the Dappi and the Gerber waterproof pants I decided that I liked that many people said the Dappi seemed softer and less plastic-y. My one reservation was that everyone complained about how enormous the sizes were. After looking through many reviews I was able to guesstimate that my son would best fit in the size small despite the description listing it for children up to 19 lbs. I made the right choice! The smalls look to be the equivalent of an underwear size 2T/3T. The quality is excellent and the material is very soft and pliable. I would happily buy these again.

I bought these for potty-training after reading how they're better than the "new" Gerber pants. My son is 30 lbs so I bought the size Medium for 20-25 lbs. They are still not tight enough, as we learned the hard way. I overall really like these, but if you child is tall and skinny, go two sizes down from their weight. I am now buying size Small.

I use these on my granddaughter whom I babysit during the week, and they've worked very well. They fit her well--she's 16 months old, in size medium & only had them leak through her clothes once.
They aren't as good quality as the ones I remember using on my kids in the 80's, but what is today?

The vinyl seemed very thin, in fact, compared to the ones I used on my kids back then...my nails are long, and once, when pulling the pants up, my nail poked a hole through them, so be careful if you have long nails how you pull them up...

The directions recommend hand washing and drying them. Many reviews complain that they didn't withstand being machine washed and dried....I've done so with no problem, even using hot water in the washer with the diapers HOWEVER I think maybe a combination of things is contributing to my success:
* I use eco-friendly laundry detergent (Seventh Generation) instead of the basic harsh "chemical based" detergents.
* I use eco-friendly non-chlorine bleach (Seventh Generation brand) and do NOT use the harsh Clorox type chlorine bleach that would burn your skin, and probably damages this somewhat thin vinyl.
* I dry them in the dryer on LOW---not high heat. This also probably eases wear and tear on them.
* I use an eco-friendly agent in the diaper pail, namely Biokleen Bac Out (which has great reviews from people who do cloth diapering) INSTEAD of using bleach, ammonia, pine sol or some other harsh chemical agent in the diaper pail.

The sturdier quality vinyl pants I used on my kids in the 80's were able to withstand all the laundering abuse by using chemical products/high heat drying, but people who had these fall apart, I think, need to be gentler as I recommended.

I got these to potty train my daughter that is 27 lbs. and wears 2T sometimes 3T jeans. I got her the large. She probably could wear the mediums after putting these on because they are a little big but they still work they aren't overly huge...they do look big though because they have so much room in them but i believe that is because these are more so made to go over diapers which are more bulky than underwear but they still work all the same. They do help keep the mess confined and for the most part off her clothes/floor/furniture. I have washed them in the washer but i put them in a lingerie bag and wash on cold on hand wash cycle or at least delicate cycle and i hang them up to dry and they have not come apart at all. I do like these better than the gerber ones (I own both). I bought the next size up to be prepared for the future. Im glad I ended up choosing these to get.
Also when I go out or want to make sure they are as "waterproof" as possible I pair them with Gerber's Training Pants because those underwear are thicker and help absorb as much as possible so the liners don't have to work so hard. But they still work for both the training kind of underwear and normal thin cotton underwear i just like the security when i go out of the training pants with the liners.
And i do agree with everyone else saying where they do a big mess in them to take them off in the bath tub because it will be messy because of the liners holding everything and there is no way of pulling them off without making a mess.
