Darda is a huge hit with my four year old daughter! She loves her track, even though she has little to no interest in assembling it. Once assembled, though, the track is fairly sturdy and easy to keep set up for several days. We put it in our dining room and a few times each day would sit down and run our cars on it for awhile.A month after Christmas, it's been moved to a bedroom where visiting children flock to play with it. We have three cars total so there are enough for a few to play at a time. Some 3 year olds don't have enough manual dexterity to move the cars fast and long enough to wind them. They also seem to not understand that starting the car on the straight, level part is most effective. I've had to demonstrate that to a few little boys, but my daughter caught on right away. I'd probably not suggest this toy for someone under age 4.

Not Engineered for Common Use,

Our daughters loved playing with the display at our neighborhood store, but once we got it home, we quickly realized that in order to use the track in any of the suggested configurations, one would need to screw the green baseplates to a table or board (like they have it at the store). However, there is no indication of this on the box or in the instructions. In fact, the instructions say you can use it on the carpet. The problem is the big, twisted "overpass" piece of track. When you bend it to make the giant loop, it naturally pulls the two green baseplates up off the floor! So you cannot run the cars on the track without holding down each baseplate with your hands. That's just plain ol' bad engineering. Darda: Either clearly tell customers they'll need to screw it to a table like a train set, or re-engineer the set to not pull up like this.

Darda Race Tracks are great for Toddlers on up,

My sons are into race cars and tracks since seeing the movie CARS. They are to little for the electrics race tracks so I bought them a set of Darda tracks and they are so thrilled. They like designing their own tracks and having races with the cars. Tracks are very reliable and are plastic to have some give. Very impressed with Darda Tracks! Wish they sold them in regular stores. They have the hardest time waiting for a package to arrive!

Disappointing,

We got this for our sons for Christmas based on the great reveiws that others had given it and were disappointed. The car jumps the track frequently before completing one go-round. Some of the track pieces do not fit together well, which effects how smoothly the car can go. The track is so light weight that it does not sit flatly on the ground as shown in the photo. Both our 5 and 9 year olds have set it aside.

My daughters 3 & 5 and my nephew, 4 love this toy! It is durable and easy to use. We knew that we would need more cars so we ordered additional ones...and they all arrived on time for Christmas. It does require assembly which will take about 10 minutes. I enjoy playing with it myself.

My boys, 3 and almost 6, really love this track. We have owned the track for two years, and it is still in excellent condition. They do need help to assemble the different configurations, but my six year old will learn to do it himself soon. The cars, when revved, will make one loop around the track, and then they stop - but you can use the bump-and-go cars and have a second car go around without stopping to rev it up.A couple tips: Do not run the cars on carpet. Dust the track before running the cars on it if it has been sitting for a while on a shelf. Also, if the track does not sit flat on the ground, or rocks too much, try weighting it down with some big toy blocks...the cars cannot maintain their momentum if the track sways too much - sometimes when the loops are bent into a new configuration, the track doesn't at first lie flat, and I think that is where the complaints come from, that the cars won't complete a loop or will jump the tracks. One con: new motors for the cars aren't that cheap - but the motors last longer if you don't let kids use them on the carpet! And it's not much different than buying replacement batteries for other toys. Overall, very fun - the cars move so fast! I like to play with it myself. Am considering another set for this Christmas, to add on.

I bought this for my son's 3rd birthday. He may not be old enough to set up the tracks himself, but it's fun to do together and he easily learned how to rev up the car. This one is a good starter kit because it has a few ways to change the layout, comes with a car and isn't too expensive. The quality of the parts and car is very good, not flimsy, like it'll break easily. Also, you can't over-rev the car, which means younger kids can't break it. I'm already thinking of adding to the tracks and cars!

Meets expectations!,

After reading many reviews for the various Hot Wheels sets and talking with friends and relatives about their experiences, I was determined to find a decent set for my 6.5 year old son. This set has lived up to our expectations. It is fairly easy to put together. My son could do it with minimal help. The size of the set will not take up a whole room. And the car uses no batteries and performs well. It is able to do all the loops with ease. I may even buy add-on sets for it.

i thought i would like this for my three year old, something he could put together without a lot of pieces. the cars just don't run smoothly. It works OK but the cars jump track too much, and the car that came with the track does not run at all half the time.

This toy is such a treat for a kid. I got this from England when I was about 9 years old. Anyway, I was talking to my cousin about it and we both remembered how much fun we had with the set. So I got it for my brother for the holidays and assembled it. He was really uninterested, until he saw me playing for a few minutes. Now, he and his friends can't get enough. Once you've got a set, you'll understand my recommendation to acquire more tracking and cars. It's my personal goal to set up a huge track around my apartment. We'll see!
