5.0 out of 5 stars fun low-maintainance race track
Santa brought this for our 4.5 year old. Once it is setup (save a picture or the directions) it stays together -- even after a lot of use. (Can't say the same for our Hot Wheel sets). It is NOT difficult to setup mind you, just a bit hard to recall the twists if you haven't set it up in awhile. No batteries needed. The cars rev themselves up and off they go! Since...

3.0 out of 5 stars Cheap track
My son (almost 3) loved this toy. He loved putting the track together as much as he loved playing with the cars on the track. However, the ends of the plastic pieces where they join together are not very durable. The edges kept breaking off and then the track would not stay together. I tried super gluing the pieces back on, and it just did not stay together. I ended...

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than expected, December 28, 2006
This review is from: Darda NASCAR Victory Lane (Toy)
This was my first Darda purchase and bought it for my 4 year old son. I bought it with hesitation after my experience with Hot Wheels (finally threw all that away) and was pleasantly surprised. The cars make it once around the track before losing speed. While initially I think there was disapointment that the cars didn't continually go around the track, everyone got used to it and had fun. I recommend the Victory Lane Speedway particularly as a first purchase because of the racing nature of the product. Two racing cars start together at the gate with each car having it's own race track. It's ok that the cars only go around once because the start gate is also the finish gate. I also purchased extra cars and would recommend doing so. It seemed that one of the kids was always walking off with a car. My 4 and 6 year old boys love this as well as my 8 year old daughter. They don't play with it a long time but do come back to it frequently. My husband had no problem putting it together and my 4 year old was able to help.

Since there are two tracks, friends/siblings can play, but great for solo play too. Doesn't take up a lot of floor space either. Would recommend for 3+.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Toy Race Track, January 19, 2007
This review is from: Darda NASCAR Victory Lane (Toy)
My seven year old got this track for Christmas. The most challenging part of putting it together is getting the loop ends to hold together long enough to snap the loop connectors on.

I found the tracks fit together well. Remember to use the track joiners. If a car jumps track, check to see that the edges of joined track are smooth. The tracks are flexible so you can bend them a bit. Make sure you wind the cars until you hear the loud clicking noise.

This is a high quality toy, which it was easier to find.

Buy something more durable.

My 3-year-old son loves this toy. It is his favorite Christmas gift. The cars are easy for a young child to race. They run very fast through the loops. It's very fun to watch.

These cars keep flying out of the tracks as they go around the flexi bend. It looks so cool when it works, but when I do it, I can get the car to go around successfully maybe one in ten times. My three year old? Forget it! I tried revving the cars as little as possible, thinking they had too much juice, but no such luck. We're returning it 2 hours after assembling.

3.0 out of 5 stars Parents prefer this track, son prefers Hot Wheels, January 12, 2007
This review is from: Darda NASCAR Victory Lane (Toy)
My 5-year-old son received this Darda track from his grandparents, and the Hot Wheels 6-in-1 Starter Track from Santa.

The Darda track is much higher quality than the Hot Wheels. It's much much easier to put together and stays together better. It's also easier to reconfigure into other layouts, as each piece of track is more "general purpose". The Darda is brightly colored and more visually appealing than the Hot Wheels. The cars are propelled by a pull-back mechanism. The Hot Wheels has a loud battery operator "chute" that propels the cars.

My son likes both tracks. But he plays with the Hot Wheels track much more than the Darda track. I can't tell if it's because it uses his already-beloved cars, or because it can send cars around continously, or because the cars crash more often.

5.0 out of 5 stars IT TOTALLY BEATS HOT WHEELS, December 29, 2006

This review is from: Darda NASCAR Victory Lane (Toy)
My 4 year old received this from Santa this Christmas. It is great. No batteries too!! He can charge the cars up himself and the race is on. (Just push them back and forth.) He had rec'd a Hot Wheels set from a family member before Christmas. (The box had a large bird on it.) One of the cars starting springs was broken, so only one car could go around the track. The large bird would not fly, it would pop out of it's holder and dive...down. Returned it. We are so happy that Santa brought this one instead of another Hot Wheels set!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good "Wow" Factor for a 3 Year Old, December 18, 2006
This review is from: Darda NASCAR Victory Lane (Toy)
Just gave this track to our 3.5 year old son for Hanukkah. He was very excited about it the minute we pulled it out of the box. The tracks and parts look very impressive. It took me, a relatively intelligent 37 year old, about 20 minutes to put it together. Once we had it set up, it was difficult to get him away for bath time.

I definitely would recommend this toy for a kid who loves cars!
