Dareka no Negai ga Kanau Koro,

This review is from: Darekano Negaiga Kanaukoro (Audio CD)
This single is awesome. It is very meaningful and very beautiful. This is the best time for Utada Hikaru to show off her vocal prowess because the music is simple. It is quite good, however, the amazon.com price is QUITE high. There are only 2 tracks (Dareka no Negai ga Kanau Koro and Dareka no Negai ga Kanau Koro - Instrumental). The retail price is about 5 dollars, so I'd search for it else where.

Good song, not so good release,

The song 'Dareka no Negai ga Kanau Koro' is Utada Hikaru's first release since her phenomenal 'COLOURS' single. The song is the theme song for her husband's film 'Casshern' and is an absolutely heartbreaking piano ballad.
The melody and arrangement are gorgeous. Hikaru experements a little bit her voice, but pulls everything off in the way that only she can. While the song is beautiful, the cd only contains the title track, and an accompanying instrumental track. Which, in all honesty, is a little bit of a rip-off - especially for Amazon's price. It's still a good song though.

Dareka No Negai Ga Kanau Koro (When Someone's Wish Comes True) is my all time favorite Utada Hikaru song. It's beautiful yet sad with a true meaning and beautiful lyrics and wonderful instrumentation. Dareka No is a power ballad and one of her bests. I love the piano and the guitar used in the song. The single comes with an instrumental and it's really beautiful to listen to. I do wish she added more to the single. A B-side would have been nice.

This song is slow and boring without having enough of a hook to grab you. I'd recommend Deep River over this song any day.
