4.0 out of 5 stars Three Points!
this book is one for action loving DL fans. although it's a little hard to get into, once you reach about page 100, you'll probally experiance problems putting it down.

3.0 out of 5 stars A tenative 3 stars...
This book irritated me. The thing keeping it from two stars was the fact that I was interested in the relationship between Vixa and Naxos. I was a bit disappointed...maybe because I had higher expectations for the book. Anyway...The book never really held my interest; the only person that was truly enigmatic to me was Naxos and possibly the Queen. Still...As far as...

4.0 out of 5 stars A nicely written book!, September 10, 1998
A nicely written book. I goes into detail about who and what the Dragonesti are. It does not go into alot of their daily life, but it does show alot about them. I recommend this book to anyone who is a true fan of DragonLance.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW!! Outstanding achievement in literary fiction..., October 2, 2002
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I was deeply impressed with this work. I was literally riveted to each and every word. Not once in this book did I see the next bend in the road. Every time you think you have a good bead on what is gonna happen next, BAM!. You become dead wrong. This work was more than fascinating!

A fantastic work. This book deal with a lost race of elves called the "Dargonesti". This race lives at the bottom of a great sea. In this book you'll see..

(1) Qualenesti Elves
(2)Silvanesti Elves

(3)Dargonesti Elves
(4)A Kracken
(5)Humans
(6)Dwarves
(7)A gryphon

This is a absolutely fabulous read. If you are a veteran of this series, you'll love this book! If you are a newbie to the world of Krynn...you'll adore this book!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic - one of the highlights of the Lost Histories, March 16, 1999
By A Customer
The Dargonesti are a race in obscurity, and while this book does little to shed some light on the main group of Dargonesti (it's more about a splinter group), it is an excellent book in itself! The characters are interesting, creative, and Vixa is an excellent person to center the book around: we see her faults, her strengths, when she is selfish and when she is caring. Gundabyr also plays a fascianting supporting role. A few rough spots exist - the half-hearted ending, for example, as well as some scientific errors (but I never noticed these - a friend pointed them out), and the misleading title detract this book from five stars but it is a very solid four.

4.0 out of 5 stars Story of land elfs encountering long forgotten sea elfs., May 27, 1998
By A Customer
If you like stories about elfs you'll enjoy this book. It's about what happens when land elfs encounter the sea elfs, the dargonesti. Conflict arises when the characters find out the the Dargonesti want to conquer them. It's pretty cool when the main character meets someone who wants to help, she gets a new power. The power to turn into a dolphin. This is a very interesting book and has a good ending.

4.0 out of 5 stars No Relation, But Still Good, September 10, 2006
To begin, I agree with all those who say it was not a history. It's just not. The story couldn't have influenced the Dargonesti in any way, because it says in the book that Uriona and her followers broke off from the Dargonesti. Still this was a great book. I liked Vixa and Speaker Elendar. I also enjoyed the fact that Vixa was the daughter of Kemian Ambrodel and Verhanna Kanan. This confirmed my suspicions from The Qualinesti that they married.
Overall, great book, good characters and great ending.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW, June 6, 2000
By A Customer
I read this book and this is exactly what I thought! It isn't the most fast paced book I ever read, but it kept me hooked with its details and the characters. It did seem that whenever you got to know one of the minor characters that they die, but for me it added onto the story, always making me wonder what happened next. If you like very fast paced books, I don't think this is the book for you, but if you like twisting plots, great characters, and a book that really seems to take you there, read it!

3.0 out of 5 stars A tenative 3 stars..., June 1, 2000
This book irritated me. The thing keeping it from two stars was the fact that I was interested in the relationship between Vixa and Naxos. I was a bit disappointed...maybe because I had higher expectations for the book. Anyway...The book never really held my interest; the only person that was truly enigmatic to me was Naxos and possibly the Queen. Still...As far as books about elves go, compared to some, this is action-packed. (Really, myself, I lost track of the rather tediously redundant battles...They kind of blur when the same things happen again and again). Some things are interesting, though I don't think knowing about sea elves (and this book is written mostly from a "land" elf's point of view, so you don't see too much of their minds) is exactly relevant. Well...Those were my two cents. Don't say I didn't warn you.
