Daria continues to be a marvelous show with sharp, intelligent humor. They aren't releasing these videos fast enough! The four episodes here are all hilarious. In the first, Daria and her artistic friend, Jane Lane, are selling candy for their school. A tremendously overweight woman wants the chocolate begs them, but they refuse. The school principal is outraged, and the conversation goes like this:

Ms. Li: Did she actually ask you to feed her the chocolate?

Daria: No. But she was hypoglycemic. The chocolate would have killed her.

Ms. Li: How do you know that she wasn't going to give them to her family?

Jane: She has no family. She ate them.

This is a hilariously clever and funny series that every lover of intelligent comedy should own. Bravo, MTV!

Daria is one of the best cartoon shows on TV and unlike SOME toon shows I could mention, it does not rely on fart jokes - at ALL. Daria exhibits humour at its very best. Anyway, the four episodes included in this tape are well-chosen, and although it doesn't include an unscreened pilot, this ought to keep any self-respecting Daria fanatic busy. What can I say? Buy it now.

Forget Ally McBeal or Frasier or The Sopranos. The best TV show of them all is Daria! As a future animator and Daria fanatic, I can honestly say that if you're smart and have a sense of humor, you'll love this video. I'll admit that I already had these episodes taped from TV and just bought this to support Daria. Daria fans have to support the show because those morons at MTV like to give Daria the shaft. And since they rarely show the old episodes anymore, this may be your only opportunity to see them for awhile. I will warn you though, there's none of that cool music in the episodes or at the closing credits. But these episodes are true Daria classics. This was how Daria originally was. Daria rocks and that's all there is to it!

I've been a Daria fan for a loooong time now, and bought this video the second I saw it. Sure I've seen all 4 episodes time after time, but they're GREAT episodes. The humor is very intelligent - which is why some people don't "get" Daria. They don't have the mental capacity to sit and absorb (or understand) all the cyncical-esque jokes, etc.. Get this video! 4 hilarious episodes, and it's not that expensive! Great writing, great animation, and mature humor. Wonderful!

I honestly think that Daria is one of the funniest shows ever made! This tape is great too. I recommend this to anyone who has ever been to middle or high school. The kids there are very similar to the Daria characters! LOL! I would talk about each episode on here, but it seems like some other people have summed it up well. Anyway, I highly recommend this tape!

True, the music was cut out by MTV, but Daria herself is still the same-an idol to be worshipped as a goddess. :) Now if MTV will just put the rest of the videos out...

Even though I'd seen these on T.V before I still think it deserves 5 stars because Daria is the best, no matter what.

You have a great video. And it's collabrations are from the last 4 episodes of the 1st season.

Believe me, I'm one of the show's biggest fans, but there's not a great deal of incentive to purchase this video. First off, all four episodes are still being aired periodically on MTV where you can catch them for free. And they're *better* seen on MTV (even with commercials) since on the video all of the buzz-bin tunes have been scrapped in favor of cheesy pseudo-rock. I realize this was necessary to keep the licensing costs down, but it's just not the same. Further, while two of the episodes featured here ("Cafe Disaffecto", "The Lab Brat") are classics, the other two are among the series' weakest episodes to date. Buy it only to support your favorite show (because God knows MTV doesn't).

Good, but catch these on TV instead. There's virtually nothing but the episodes on the VHS tape (no extras), and to top it all off, the normally awesome music has been replaced with, sorry to offend, ghetto junk!
