Fans of MTV's Daria show felt that aside from some fun (but choppy) video clips of the humorously cynical Daria, this CD was a real disappointment. A journal, address book, calendar and planner all in one, the program suffers from a poor design. Simply adding names to the address book, for instance, requires many steps and menus, making the process much trickier than it should be. You might as well use the old fashioned, hard copy book. This cumbersome interface is evident throughout the program, making it also hard to work with the planner and diary.
The calendar is the best component, letting you double click on a date for direct access to the corresponding journal entry, for instance. The writing space found in the journal is too limited for long-winded writers, and the same seven questions (e.g., "Pick a line from a song that best describes your day") appear for every journal entry. Testers never did figure out how to get the planner to work, and we couldn't find a way to import or export info from other files containing names and addresses. Even the screen size is a problem- it's too large for standard 15" and 17" monitors. Whether you're a true blue Daria fanatic, or not, we'd recommend waiting for an improved version to come out before making the purchase.
