More About the Author

I usually write paranormal romance, including Strange as Angels, a gothic horror love story with angels and demons, and my latest release, Christabel's Tale, a contemporary fairy tale, both published by Purple Sword Publications. I have also written some straightforward, non-magical contemporary fiction, including the on-going Scarlett Cross series about a Hollywood princess, which began with my current release Alpha Romeo, also with Purple Sword. I used to be a mid-list writer of historical fantasy romance for Pocket Books back when mid-list writers were still a thing. For Pocket, I wrote the Bound in Darkness series, a trilogy of dark vampire romances, and the Falconskeep series, gothic faery tales of a witching dynasty in the castle culture of medieval England (published under the name Jayel Wylie). My books have sold thousands of copies in paperback and e-book worldwide and have been translated into German and Italian.

My very first book, a collaboration with another author under the name Anne Hathaway-Nayne, was These Our Revels, a tie-in novel to the cult TV show Forever Knight. I live in Chester, South Carolina, with my husband, Justin Glanville, an artist and aspiring RPG designer, and our shockingly bad but brilliant Jack Russell terrier, Luke. I have an M.A. in English literature from Winthrop University.

Roxanna is a vampire. She was locked inside a bottle for protection until her curse could be broken. Her protector, Orlando is in search of the chalice that can free her.

Roxanna is set free by villains intent on murdering Gareth and his men. She kills them, but she saves Gareth, intending to feed from him to regain her strength and destroy her creator, an evil vampire named Lucan Kivar. Roxanna starts to develop feelings for Gareth though and Gareth believes Roxanna is his angel. When he discovers what she really is, will he still call her angel or will she become a demon to him?

Gareth and Roxanna become allies in their fight to set Roxanna free and destroy Lucan Kivar. Their love was destined to save them all.

Dark Angel is a story rich in danger, sensuality and dark secrets. Gareth's intense passion for Roxanna is romantic and chivalrous. Roxanna is torn between her love for Gareth and her dark side. Dark Angel has an intriguing plot with memorable characters that held me riveted to each page.

I read the first book in the series, bound in darkness. I loved the first book and I discovered Dark Angel at my local Barnes and Noble. I immediatly began reading Dark Angel and about 1/2 way through the book, I felt extreamly lost and had no idea what was going on as new characters Siobahn and Tristan were introduced. Also, I kept reading about Isabell and Orlando being in Kivar's clutches. "WHAT?", I thought. Then I realized I stupidly skipped the second book in the series. With most series, you can skip certain books and still understand what is going on due to the backround information the author provides. In this series, that is not the case. I loved this book, but I wished I had read the second book first so I did not feel lost. A WORD TO THE WISE: read these books in order and please do not skip around. This series is worth it! ENJOY!

Highly entertaining vampire tale "Dark Angel" is the exciting and romantic conclusion to the "Bound in Darkness" series.

Possessing now a living mans body, the evil vampire Kivar has captured Orlando and our hero, vampire Simon's true love Isabel. Kivar is feeding on Isabel daily to stay strong and they are now in Scotland getting closer to acquiring the holy Chalice so Kivar can fulfill his evil dream of having dominion over all. Orlando has dropped on purpose the bottle containing his beloved vampire Princess Roxanna to the fates. Meanwhile, Scottish Knight Gareth is mortally wounded by attacking brigands trying to kill him so he cannot return home and claim his rightful inheritance as leader of the clan McKail. Right before the attack, Gareth's cousin finds vampire Roxanna's bottle where she sleeps inside. During the fight one of the brigands finds the bottle and mistakenly releases her. They do not live to regret it. The brigands kill all of Gareth's people and Roxanna kills and drains everyone else. She was very thirsty! Roxanna finds the dying Gareth and decides to save him to feed on for the future. He is handsome and she likes his eyes. Nearby she finds an old cottage and hides there with Gareth from the killing sun. With her vampire senses Roxanna knows Kivar is near and she wants revenge! Wounded but struggling to live, Gareth sees Roxanna in his delirious state and thinks she is an angel.

You must read this enjoyable series conclusion to see if evil Kivar is stopped before he finds the chalice. Will Roxanna save handsome Gareth or drain him dry? Does Simon save his beloved Isabel? And most importantly, will the vampires reclaim their souls? I really enjoyed "Dark Angel" and highly recommend it. Enjoy!

I thought this was a great series of books. I had the hardest time getting my hand on this one since I came to reading them so late. The previous novel ended with Orlando and Isabel in Kevar's hands as he heads to the location of the Chalice. This location happens to be in the mountains/highlands of Scotland. On the way Orlando takes out his cut glass bottle containing Roxanna and drops her along the way in order to keep her out of Kevar's clutches. Just so happenly Gareth, along with his tutor and cousin, come across the bottle. The bottle gets open soon after and Gareth and Roxanne work through their own problems which seem to unbeknownith to them connected to each others.

Great series with a lot of action and likable characters. Sorry to see this is the last one.
