5.0 out of 5 stars BEST GAME EVER!!!
i love the dark angel game!!it has amazing action, tons of moves and the characters actually look and have the voices of the ones on the tv show (max and logan). i admit at the beginning it was a little hard to find out what to do but every game has at least one problem right? and if u get past this one the game rocks. this is the kind of game that u can play over and...

Not enough time or thought went into where to put the saves in order to keep the frustration levels in line. No one likes having to redo large portions of a game because the saves are not well thought out.

Dark Angel developers should take some time and learn from Splinter Cell developers on how to do saves.

4.0 out of 5 stars PLEASE STOP THE HYPE !!!, February 5, 2004
This review is from: Dark Angel (Video Game)
I read all the reviews on this game and I figured it was time for a more recent opinion. In spite of what most viewers said about this game; I brought it anyway!! First: People complain that they fail levels because someone saw them... ***NEWSFLASH*** It's a stealth-game. The object of the game is to complete the mission without being seen; what part of that was too hard to understand?? If you can't control the cat-like stealth abilities of Max; then buy yourself another game to play. I personally think that the enemies A-I level favors the Genome Soldiers (Metal Gear Solid PS1). Second: Those same people don't like the controls for this game either. I'll admit that the controls aren't the most advanced type that XBOX can offer, but with practice and precision you can master her combo attacks. The buttons are arranged x-punch b-kick a-jump/stealth roll y-throw/break necks L-stealth movement R-speed burst and she moves with the left analog plus other functions I don't have time to explain. It's similiar to many older games that required constant button pressing to create combo attacks like Streets of Rage, Golden Axe, Double Dragon (Genesis) and River City Ransom (Nintendo). I don't find it impossible to control Max in this game; actually these controls are fairly easy when compared to more advanced control systems like Rainbow Six, Kill Switch, and Halo. As I said before if easy controls aren't what you want then buy another game with harder controls. ------------------------------ Now comes my ^_^ critism that got this game only 4 out of 5. I saw the quick glitches in the game which are not acceptable in any video game. That's my only gripe about this game!! The graphics are average, the music is cool (very upbeat), the story-line is excellent. Max is like a modern day Tombraider for the XBOX. I've never seen the Dark Angel movie and I don't recommend it to anyone, but I do like the video game. Finally: To all those people that complain about this game;my final advice to you is...Wipe the milk off your mouth, and stop whining like a baby!!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing., April 14, 2003
This review is from: Dark Angel (Video Game)
I'm a big Dark angel and jessica alba fan And was looking forward to this game. This is what should have been a great game. The makers had a great character with super human strength, A cool story etc.. I would have thought Dark Angel would have turned out to be a great game in the Way Buffy The Vampire slayer did.Where to begin,.First the Graphics are average at best, There are some nice shots in the opening but the in-game graphics are ordinary and plain. All the settings look the same, The camera is to far away. 2nd it's pretty much a button mashing game. They throw to many enemies at you(some with guns) and you just start mashing away, 3rd theres just no depth. It's all just go here fight get Key card fight some more get another key card and fight etc...And it seems Max dies way to easy. She gets hit a few times and her health is just about gone. And maybe the worst part is their is no inter-action with the environment, She can hit a garbage dumpster but that's about it. SHe can jump on to the top off a roof in some parts but seems not to be able to jump on top of a car lol.Now the game does have some cool things about it. Max's moves are very cool with Matrix style fighting and flipping off walls, Her zoom Vision..very cool. her burst of speed cool,,,but way to short. If they were to take some of these things that are good about it and make a better game to go with it they would have a game even better then Buffy.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Dark Angel (Video Game)
I just recently got an X-box and was searching for good solid games. I purchased this based on the reviews I read at Amazon.com and was pleasantly surprised. This is a great game. It is fun and challenging without being impossible. The controls are easy to learn and the goals for each level are clearly stated before you begin. The graphics are good, although I did find a few problems with the camera angles, especially when near solid objects like walls, etc. Otherwise, I have no complaints. If you are looking for a solid game with challenges (not frustrations) that has a lot of replay value, GET THIS GAME!!

1.0 out of 5 stars you got to be kidding me, May 15, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Dark Angel (Video Game)
As long as people continue to buy this garbage, the developers will continue to produce this trash. Anyone that has had the displeasure of playing this game will no what I'm talking about. Kill 10 men in under 60 seconds or die! Wow! What fun! Or later on in the game... If the enemy sees you, you die! Wow! This just keeps getting better! After about 5 levels, the game is nearly impossible to play even on the easy level. You can't even save your progress until the end of each level. If the developers cared even a little bit about this game, they would've at least allowed your character to move while you're shooting your X5 gun. Spare yourself the pain, and don't buy this game. This is by far the biggest embarrassment to hit the XBOX.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than buffy!, November 11, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Dark Angel (Video Game)
i have played both the ps2 and xbox version, as there was very little differnce between them. This game reminds me a lot of buffy the vampire slayer only better. The motion isnt as stiff as it was in buffy. The xbox version had a little more fluid motion as the fighting was felt almost like dead or alive. Like I said the difference is very little. Dark angel has many alphets like buffy, except more prettier. The fighting is very good. The part i really hated about buffy was that u can only do 3 hit combos when u press the same buttton again, but in dark angel u can link a lot more moves when u button mash. Enemies range from thugs to what it looks like burglars (I havent seen the show at all so i dont know what significance those ppl have to Dark Angel) the atmospheres are kool. The only thing they should work on is dark angels face, it sorta looks like jessica alba, but not really. The thing that i love the most of course is the motion. its great. i think it is 60 frames per second two times as much as buffy. and max does some acrobats and gymnastic "stuff" like flips and aerial "stuff".

i really liked playing this game, but i only played it for lik 30 minutes so i really dont know the true essence of this game

2.0 out of 5 stars Please, end the misery!, July 3, 2003
This review is from: Dark Angel (Video Game)
How do I start? Where do I begin?? Dark Angel the series kicked "mucho butto" when it was aired, and I, along with thousands of others mourned its premature demise in favour of Mr Whedons inferior Firefly (now also axed. HA!).It was a slam-dunk of a premise that lent itself to any and every format: Film, TV, Anime, and of course, video games. Now when i heard a game was being made I was on cloud 10.5 never mind 9. So imagine my disapointment when I slapped this miserable excuse of a video adaptation into my prestine Xbox.

The nearest simularity to this game is Fighting Force N64, only the camera's so far back even THAT shoddy game looks like a classic in comparison. Don't get me wrong, it's not easy making a decent video game and these guys probably thought they had a good stab at it, but then Pete Waterman thought he had a good stab at producing OTV's debut single. Nuff said there!

When will the game industry learn from all the other entertainment industries? Only entrust TOP game franchises to TOP game making talent!

4/10 (for minamal effort)

1/10 (for potentially killing a top franchise)

ROLL ON ALIAS!
