Sci-fi metal, June 16, 2008
I first heard of Iron Savior when I bought a copy of A Tribute to Judas Priest "Delivering the Goods" where they did an excellent cover of Desert Plains. I like tribute CDs mostly because it exposes me to bands that I otherwise would have never been exposed to. Anyway, as I started searching for other Iron Savior CD I've noticed they have done four different covers of Judas Priest songs (which is more than any other band has done that I know of) and they are all done extremely well. I believe this is their fourth CD. I purchased Dark Assault first because it had a cover of Delivering the Goods that I didn't already have. As for the rest of the CD, I guess they most resemble Gamma Ray, with elements common to Helloween That is to be expected since Kai Hansen is behind them. I think I also hear a little Primal Fear in there as well. If you're looking for something new you're probably not going to find it here. It is what it is, and its power metal pure and simple. If you're a fan like I am and can't get enough power metal then that is great. I especially like Piet Sielk's voice. While his voice doesn't have the range that some singers do, it has almost a "metallic" ring to it that you can really hear when he is holding a note for a while that fits the music well with its sci-fi themes. If was definitely worth getting.

Simple...Iron Savior, April 7, 2001
This review is from: Dark Assault (Audio CD)
Iron Savior does it again with their third full length studio album "Dark Assault". It has no surprises, usual IS stuff. Great songs very well executed by great musicians. We won`t find anything new or better than their previous releases. I still think "Unification" is a better album. It has a better solos and melodies: better songwriting; no mistery. I think it's because "Dark Assault" sounds like something that we've heard before (cliché) and it's really "wasted and used" (I mean in the band and the genre; you`ll go crazy trying to find out which songs sound the same, compare to the previous albums.) All the songs have the same structure. Piet Sielck is a great musician, but he is not a virtuous magician with the guitar, so it's understandable if he doesn`t surprise us on each release. We now what he is capable of, and that's what Iron Savior is all about... ...Iron Savior is Iron Savior, %100 heavy metal and killer songs and sound. I don`t know if there's a band that sounds more powerful and aggressive than Iron Savior. I was just comparing this album with the previous two. This album rocks, and it'll make your head spin (try not to swallow your hair).

unification part 2 is really what the title should be. more amazing power metal, May 9, 2007
This review is from: Dark Assault (Audio CD)
hello metallians. iron savior are one of the truest power metal bands around and they write some of the hardest hitting catchy anthems the world of metal has ever seen. this album is alot like unification. i am obsessive over unification as i think it is one of the 10 best albums ever made, but this album is in many ways just as amazing. the metal god kai hansen does his best song ever on this cd. solar wings is to me what power metal is all about . that song has to be the best song kai has ever done. the riffs are jaw dropping and the choruses will bring the metallian out of anybody who even remotely cares in any way about metal. piet sielk is also an amazing writer and guitarist,as well as a great vocalist. piet is the head man here, he is the lead singer and writer. piet has an amazing sense of mellody and knows just the right amount of power and mellody a song needs to become a master work. kai hansen is not in the amazing album battering ram or condition red but that does not hurt this band at all. however with kai piet wrote some of his best songs period. kai is a guitar wizard, he has a style all his own and it is the best guitar sound i have ever heard. this cd is a buffet of anthems. the amazing made of metal and predators and ive been to hell, thats not all. i mean every song is awesome. you should buy this album for the song solar wings alone.solar wings is one of the best power metal songs ever made, that i garuntee. also you can not own this album without owning unification. this is power metal at its finest. your friend in metal, brandon whitson,25 of north carolina
