5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVED this Sequel!!! January 15, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I first read C.A. Kunz's book The Childe in May and I loved it. I loved the characters, the feel and the flow of the story. Dark Days takes up right where The Childe left off and it more than delivers. The characters are more enchanting than ever before and the story flow is so clean and crisp it draws you completely in. I liked everything about this book and cannot wait to get my hands on book 3. Kudos to C.A Kunz for giving me a world I absolutely adore.

5.0 out of 5 stars A real page turner! April 15, 2012
Format:Paperback
Dark Days is the continuation of Cat Colvin's story and I was really able to see how this team of writers have progressed in every aspect that makes for a truly great writer. Despite having months in between book 1 and book 2 I instantly was sucked back into the world that C.A. Kunz has created. Their voice has grown in strength and I was pleased with how this cast of characters became more complex. I got a much stronger sense of the characters' personalities and the role each played in the unfolding of the story which followed book 1 with one surprise after another.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent February 3, 2012

This book was AWESOME i had downloaded the first book just because it was free and imediatly I was hooked to it and had to read the second in the series right away which was even better than the first book and I am dying to find out what happens in the third wishing the author would go ahead and publish it so I can go ahead and get to reading it. It is a teen book but VERY WELL written with a great story line and it is one of those books that has not been overdone like some others have been. All though it is still about vampires it is something that is new and fresh and keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Cat Colvin is ready to start her sophomore year with a clean slate. Slowly recovering from the shocking news her parents revealed to her, Cat is more than ready for things to just be normal.

This year she has the perfect boyfriend, Ryan. She's strong enough to stand up to her bully, Isaac. She's not willing to put up with any attitude from her swimming competitor, Kristen. And her headaches and fainting spells are a distant memory.

She just wants to go to school. Hang out with her friends. Spend time with her boyfriend. And maybe read the next Robert Craven novel.

But when two strangers show up in town claiming to know who she is, Cat learns that not all secrets are out in the open, that Astoria may not be the safest place for her to be and that she has enemies that will stop at nothing to find her.

When danger can come from anywhere and anyone, and can strike at any time, Cat will need to accept who she is and learn to protect herself and those she loves if she wants to make it through the dark days ahead.

So much for normal.

***

Once again readers will be drawn into this richly imaginative world that the authors created in Dark Days, the sequel to The Childe, where not everyone is as they seem, there are more secrets than revelations and danger abounds.

In Dark Days, the drama is intensified, the pace is accelerated and the mystery deepens for Cat Colvin as she discovers that while she got answers to questions she didn't even know she had, she's still being kept in the dark. And that her quiet hometown of Astoria isn't the place she thought it was.

The story continues shortly after the events in The Childe which left Cat reeling from the shocking news her family revealed to her.

5.0 out of 5 stars An exciting additon to The Childe series! August 17, 2012
Format:Paperback
I literally JUST finished this book a few hours ago and my jaw is still on the ground! I really liked The Childe. I loved the characters, the amount of mystery and action in it, and I was well prepared to enjoy Dark Days, however, I was not thinking it was going to be this good! It took it me on one wild ride of twists and turns that I never saw coming. It made me love characters I was previously annoyed with, it gave me insight to things I was confused about before, it answered ALL of the questions I had during the first book and still managed to dump a whole new slew of questions on me at the end. And people, do NOT even get me started on that cliff-hanger of an ending!

Let's start off with the story line! It picks off basically where The Childe left off. Cat is just realizing she is adopted and soon after that she realizes what is so different about her, she just happens to be half human, half vampire. Yeah, talk about dumping a load of information on someone! Once the story gets going, things just don't slow down! Cat is put through a ton of tough situations, she is forced to grow up a lot and deal with way more than one person should have to. Friends and family are put at risk, we learn things about the town and all of Cat's neighbors plus there is a few new people thrown into the mix that make this story extra interesting. Basically you will be entertained from start to finish. There was never a dull moment throughout the whole book!

As for the characters, they couldn't have been more perfect. We learn the quirks of most characters in The Childe and those quirks are even more predominant in this story. Cat is as sarcastic, silly, and strong as ever.

4.0 out of 5 stars Progressing nicely
My biggest beef is the son-mother team started another series and no hint when the other 3 in this one will be released. A bit too predictable, but a fast read that I enjoyed.
