I love the book. It was a good Romance, July 11, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Dark Dreams (Paperback)
I enjoyed the character of the book it appealed to both sides to my nature. However, for someone look for one or the other, being Romance or Horror, I suppose they would be greatly disappointed. I too recieved a second hand copy of the book. However, like the person who gave me the book and the person that told her about the book, I love the it and I am waiting for book two the story of Vic brother and have been looking for it. People must realize it is a Romance novel not a Horror. They need to get over it.

Haunting, Unusual and Dark, June 28, 2002
This review is from: Dark Dreams (Paperback)
Heads up fans of Christine Feehan....if you haven't read Dark Dreams by Jane Harrison, you missed out! I read this book many years ago as a teenager and boy, did it stay in my mind long after. I finally found a copy again and re-read it and the impact of it was just the same as the first time I read it. No other author has written a more compelling romance dealing with fallen angels. I have eagerly awaited her sequel (oh please! say it is so!) and hope it wont be too long now.

Pure Drivel! A yawner., March 30, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Dark Dreams (Paperback)
This novel has an interesting premise, but falls far short of the mark. Getting beyond the second chapter was no mean feat. It was so boring, I am glad I bought a used copy. What is obviously meant to be lyrical sounds silly and sophomoric, and none of the characters are believable. A great idea, but in the wrong hands...too bad. It could have been a decent book if written by an author with talent.

What a disappointment!, February 7, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Dark Dreams (Paperback)
A friend loaned me this book, but I forgive her. While the opening chapter was intriguing enough to hold my interest, it was the best part of the book. The idea of the fallen angels is absolutely wonderful and well-researched. Unfortunately, it fell apart quickly after the first two chapters. I thought the romance was silly and childish. The horror/mystical aspects fell flat after the initial premise of fallen angels, and at points it was so overly theatrical it was more boring than intriguing. This author would benefit from taking creative writing courses, unless she actually meant for the book to come off as an amateurish spoof. If that was her goal, she succeeded. I sincerely hope she is not planning a sequel. This reader won't be buying it. I have two kids and a sink full of dirty dishes that are more entertaining.
