5.0 out of 5 stars Just as good as the first
I cheated. This book came out in September in the UK so I ordered it from there. I was awesome, just as good as the first, and in some ways better. This time the story is told from both Isabel and Arkarian's point of view. I was disappointed at first, because I missed Ethan's perspective, but then I got into it...Romance between Isabel and Arkarian is there, it's very...

I cheated. This book came out in September in the UK so I ordered it from there. I was awesome, just as good as the first, and in some ways better. This time the story is told from both Isabel and Arkarian's point of view. I was disappointed at first, because I missed Ethan's perspective, but then I got into it...Romance between Isabel and Arkarian is there, it's very funny really, because they are both so clueless. Matt is now Ethan's apprentice, but is having some trouble...And for the first time we get to meet the goddess. Time travel is of course throughout the book, but things aren't looking too good for the guard. We learn more about Arkarian's past, and the ending is much like the first book's...and made me squeal with joy when I got to it. It was a great book, I've already read through it twice and I just got it 10 days ago, and it leaves me anticipating the third book even more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, much better than the first, December 31, 2003

This review is from: The Dark (Guardians of Time Book 2) (Hardcover)
This book is great! Compared to the first one, I had a lot more fun reading this one. Normally I'm a non-emotional person, but this book made me cry with sadness and joy. The ending may be a little predictable, but I loved it non-the-less. This book is fabulous! No point is giving a bio of it, cause there's one already there. The characters are very well thought, and if you enjoy fantasy involving the past, well then, this is one for you. Make sure you read the other one first though (otherwise you will be totally lost). I highly recommend this book for fatasy addicted teens, along with any other completed or future books done by Marianne Curley. She is an excellent begining author, with a refreshing new look on writing. I cannot wait until she writes the third, final book, although I will be a little sad that the series ended so soon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely great!, September 22, 2003

This review is from: The Dark (Guardians of Time Book 2) (Hardcover)
I waited impatiently for The Named to come out, and when it finally did, I had to wait impatiently again for this book to come out. Believe me when I say that The Dark will not dissapoint fans of The Named and Old Magic. Once again, the characters of Isabel, Ethan, Arkarian, Matt, Rochelle, and many others from The Named come back for the second book of The Guardians of Time trilogy. Though the story is slightly predictable, you're bound to be surprised sooner or later. The plot has many twists and turns. However, I do wish that the book had a little more of Rochelle and Ethan, or anybody other than Isabel and Arkarian. Still, I really like this book. After finishing the book, you are left with many questions left unanswered that will probably be answered in the third book of the trilogy. So, I'll just have to wait again, until the trilogy is completed, and I can finally rest in peace.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, July 26, 2006
This review is from: The Dark (Guardians of Time Book 2) (Hardcover)
I found this my favourite book in the series. It was very suspenseful and I couldn't put it down. I read both this one and the Key in one day. I loved how Akarians perspective on everything that's happening is voice , unlike in the first where the reader is unsure of why he is saying some things. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and would reccomend it to all fantasy/magic lovers!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing!!!, December 14, 2003
This review is from: The Dark (Guardians of Time Book 2) (Hardcover)
As soon as I read this, I wrote a letter to Marrianne Curley, telling her how wonderful this book is! I really can't wait for 'The Key' the next book in the series.

In this book, It is told in the perspectives of Isabel and Arkarian. It is even better than the last one, for a reationship between Isabell And Arkarian is now comming into full bloom. It also has a bit more of adventure, seeing as they go into 'the underworld' and a very surprising ghot just happens to help...overall, my FAVEORITE book of ALL TIME...so far...I suspect 'The Key' to be even better!

5.0 out of 5 stars Even Better!, November 17, 2003
This review is from: The Dark (Guardians of Time Book 2) (Hardcover)
First of all, read The Named. You can't read this book until you have read The Named, otherwise you might be rather confused. ^_^

The Dark is the second book in the Guardians of Time, and every bit as good as the first book! In fact, I'd say that The Dark even surpasses The Named. Written through the perspectives of Arkarian and Isabel, this book will take you on a wild journey through the evil depths of the Underworld; where Arkarian has been imprisoned and where strangely familiar ghosts wreak havoc on the nerves of many.

The thing I liked about The Dark is that, while some books have the plot written around the romance, Marianne Curley wrote the romance around the plot. The histories of the characters are even more deeply detailed than before, shedding light on some mysteries that The Named had just barely touched upon. And, again, the touch of romance is sweet.

In a world whose social structure is rapidly crumbling, the Guardians of Time have to work twice as hard to prevent the Order of Chaos. The Prophecy had spoken of a traitor in thier midst...

Mordaut's dead. Who has taken his place?

5.0 out of 5 stars So Good!, October 31, 2003

This review is from: The Dark (Guardians of Time Book 2) (Hardcover)
This is a CRAZI COOL book! I already read The Named two times and when I saw this book on the shelves my hand shot out and I literally jumped up and down! For a whole week breakfast, homework, TV and everything has been put off constantly to read even just a page of The Dark and now I wish I had savored it better because there are only 30 pages left to read, then its back to boring books. Just like The Named and Old Magic (which I also read two times) there is the PERFECT mix of adventure, suspense, horror(maybey not quite enough, but good for this book) and, of course, romance!! I have recommended Mrs. Curley's books many times and I recommend them to all of you!

4.0 out of 5 stars Something to Look Forward To, October 28, 2003
This review is from: The Dark (Guardians of Time Book 2) (Hardcover)
Marianne Curley's second book in this Trilogy was something I've been waiting for.
Once recieved, it was something I could not be torn away from. The plot is ominous and foreboding and there are many secrets that you're just dying to find out. BR>Overall, I enjoyed THE DARK and am very glad I bought it.
I suggest reading THE NAMED first otherwise you'll be quite confused. But don't worry, the first is great anyway. Maybe better.

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok, but I liked the first one much better, October 18, 2003

This review is from: The Dark (Guardians of Time Book 2) (Hardcover)
I loved the first book in this series, and read it several times while waiting impatiently for this one to come out. But when I got it I was dissapointed, this book was ok, and it was good to know that Isabelle and Arkarian were finally going to get together, but you also kind of knew it would happen, there were no suprises, but I did enjoy the fact that it happened. I also didn't really like how dark it was, dark books arn't really my thing, but thats a totally personal decision, and then again I should have been more than expecting it since the book is in fact called "the dark". Now I'm not saying not to read it if your a fan of the series, because it does answer alot of questions brought up in the first book, and also brings up some new ones to be answered in the third and final book, so that was nice. But I also wanted a little more time travel in this book, that was my favorite part of the first book, and in the dark they only go back one time, and it's not even historical or anything. This book mainly just establishes more of Arkarians past, and hints at more for the future. But read it, and I'm hoping that the next one will be even greater than the first, and alot better that this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Book., January 10, 2006
This review is from: Dark (Paperback)
I loved this book. It's a very good second book in the guardians of time trilogy. I did find this book to go by more slowly than the other two books. This maybe the worst book of the guardians of time trilogy.. but if you read it you'll realise that man, if this is the worst book in the guardians of time trilogy I gotta read the rest.
The Guardians Of Time Trilogy is a really suspenseful type of trilogy mainly suited for young adults. It has a really unique type of excitement in it. In the end you will want to read the next book, The Key, and continue your journey through this exciting trilogy called The Guardians Of Time.
