I've never found a RPG that genuinely gave me the creeps, not even Dark Heresy and their's some creepy stuff in their. The Radical's Hand book gave me the creeps. The book drives home the dangers of Madness and Corruption in the 40k Universe. For a true taste of what "Grim Darkness" really is, this is the book that will give you the understanding. Not for the faint of heart or the weak of faith. The Emperor protects.

Well, this is sort of a very "standard" addition for a wonderful RPG like Dark Heresy. It has everything one may want from such a book - new careers, items, skill, spells, enemies etc. As opposed to some other DH books it's definitely worth its money and is a must have in my view.

Overall this product adds to the flavor of the game and has nice rules additions for a Radical Dark Heresy campaign. My gripes are that like most of these books, they give background info but don't fill in the details, this allows GMs to tailor the campaign (and causes me to buy more books to get ideas). Great! But I buy these books to have the ideas fleshed out in detail so I don't have to spend the time doing so myself! I know this is not an adventure book so it is not supposed to have specific adventures, however, they could easily give specifics on enemies and cults, everything's a mystery. That is great for players, not so great for a GM.

Furthermore, the book gives so many factions and presents so much infighting among Inquisitors that one wonders when any of the Inquisitors would have time to actually fight the true enemies of the Emperor. The Isstavanians (sp?), Occularians etc each want to destroy either the whole Calixan Conclave or some other large part of the Imperial Bureaucracy. This just seems foolish for the most part, I know it is only a game, but with so much infighting an organization would never survive. I also know the book is supposed to be partly about inquisitorial infighting, but it seems to me the authors just get carried away and that part of the time spent talking about how so and so wants to wipe out so and so could have been used to add specific details on other true enemies of mankind, who for the most part seem to be forgotten in this book. And yes, I know, I just don't have to include this in my campaign, but I did have to pay cash for it!
