A shadow moved into the bedroom. . . .

She waited a beat too long deciding whether to follow him out the window or backtrack to the glass door. She turned toward the door just as he came across the bed. He pulled her backward, flipping her under him as they landed hard on the bed.

"I like a woman who's active in bed, but you really push things to the limit," Logan said, imprisoning her wrists with his hands.

"Go to hell," Scottie said.

She didn't fight him but he didn't for a second believe she'd accepted defeat.

"You're just mad because I'm on top this time."

"Don't get used to it," she shot back.

He grinned. "Hey, I'm a sensitive guy. I let the woman be in control. Occasionally."

"Let?"

"What's the matter, Detective Princess, you don't like giving up control?" He pressed his lips close to her ear. "No matter what women say, they like being pulled beneath a nice hard body. . . ."

This was a pretty good book. Both the hero & heroine were 'superhero' types. I like that because it gave a lot of intelligence to both characters (characters that make stupid decisions annoy me). However, I do wish there had been a bit more time spent on the sub-plot instead of just the romance part. Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy the way the hero & heroine spent time actually talking (instead of just jumping in & out of bed), but if DK had spent less time on what they were thinking about each other & used that time on the sub-plot it would have made this a 5 star read instead of a 4 star. This is a 5 yr old book though & from what I've read on DK she just keeps getting better - so I'll definitely be buying more of her books.

This is one of the best of the action/suspence romantic books I have read by Ms. Kauffman. This is the fourth of a series that has the hero or heroine that is a special agent. And with Scotti Giardi being the head of the group and Logan Blackstone being a black sheep, they make a wonderful couple. They both have to find a happy medium and figure who is wearing the pants.
