This is a great read and highly recommended for anyone who loves a good fantasy novel -- or just a good story for that matter! It has all you want in terms of solid characters, exciting conflicts, intriguing weaponry, emotional entanglements, and a veritable host of fantasy species that all play a part in the epic plot that unfolds. All I can say is that I look forward to Michael Holladay's next book in the trilogy because this one is a winner!

The Dark Legion is the best fantasy I've ever read, and I've read a lot! Full of exciting action and emotional depth, this story will take you to a marvelous world of mystical powers, creatures, and places that will captivate you as you follow the story of a young boy who's life will drastically change the future of an entire world. Full of mystery, action, and passion, you won't want to stop until it's over. Even then you will want it to keep going. It was written by an eloquent hand that expresses everything in fine detail. The words paint a picture better than those of any story I have ever read. The story also teaches valuable life lessons through consequences of mistakes and standing up for what's right. If you've never enjoyed fantasies, this might be the one to get you hooked.

Having researched the author, and then reading this- his first work- I'm amazed that he began writing "The Dark Legion" at fourteen years of age!! Only the most creative imagination could have conjured up the imagery presented in this intriguing tale of good versus evil. It reveals maturity beyond his years.

The storyline is fast paced, moving from scene to scene, bringing the reader full circle. And the ending surely sets the stage for more adventure to come.

I highly recommend "The Dark Legion" to anyone who loves medieval fantasy. While this typically isn't my genre, I will definitely be purchasing the next book from this exciting new author who is pursuing what is apparently his calling in life.

Michael brings his characters to life and compels you to climb into the story with him. If you liked Eragon you will love The Dark Legion by Michael Holladay, It will leave you on your toes waiting for the next book to come out.
