I just bought this MP3 Album with the one click settings here on Amazon. I'll say to start that the album as a whole isn't as useful for *my* purposes as I'd hoped it would be. I found myself wishing that the majority of the tracks were a good bit less percussive and a great deal more ambient/tranquil. Pounding drum-kits with tons of syncopation make meditation and energy-work a little more difficult, for me at least. However, there were some tracks which were more stringed-instrument-oriented, and with those, I was thrilled. Basm II & Basm II (Qamarat) are excellent, despite their lacking duration.

However, I also won't ever say this album was a wasted effort on the part of Knossos. There are certainly those among us who are looking for music to serve other purposes than mine. For instance, this would make excellent travel-music, and I could also see it creating an excellent vibe at restaurants or parties (the latter two due to the music's capacity to be interesting without sapping away all of one's attention when played at the right volume). I could also certainly see songs from this album making an excellent edition to a movie soundtrack, especially where eastern and Arabic locations are used.

I found Knossos while surfing the net for Arab music. This cd forms a great blend between traditional beats, the oud and electronica. Highly recommended!

Unknown to the Sea is the best song on the album. Awesome tempo, great sound - I listened to it for weeks.
