5.0 out of 5 stars Following the lead of the past books...just as good!

3.0 out of 5 stars Maybe the most violent book in the series
Starts off right where #8 left us with Kyle confronting the gang and Michael's brother trevor appearing to join up with the evil alien Dupris.
They get Maria's brother Kevin back and spend much of the rest of the book dealing both with Dupris and the fact that Isabel has now also developed the dangerous akino conditin.
Max wants her to join the collective...

5.0 out of 5 stars Following the lead of the past books...just as good!, July 3, 2000
This latest edition to the Roswell family is just as good as those who came before it. The story continues to build as Isabel finds herself beginning to suffer the akino that almost took Max away from her. See what Michael does when faced with his decision to help Isabel through this tough time without making her connect to the conciousness, the only thing that could save her life. Learn the real reason Trevor came to Earth, what Liz is getting herself into with Adam after her break up with Max, what is becoming of Max because of his connection to the conciousness, how Alex is behaving since his trip through the wormhole turns him into a babe magnet, and the biggest shock comes at the end! But don't expect me to completely give it away! The Roswell adventure gets better and better with this latest book. I can't wait for #10!

5.0 out of 5 stars Everything's falling into place now!, June 25, 2000
Well, Roswell High has only one book after this, and everything is finally falling into place. DuPris is revealed as the leader of the alien rebellion against the collective consciouness, which, not surprisingly, turns out to be evil. But of course, since he's such a creep, he's doing the right thing for the wrong reasons and through the wrong methods! Liz is lonely since she had to break up with Max after he became immersed in the consciousness, and she tries a relationship with Adam, but she loves Max to much for it to work. And Isabel may have to join the consciousness or die - but she'd rather do the latter than lose herself. And we also learn just why Trevor came to Earth. An excellant addition to the series, possibly one of the best. It's definitley back on track after Book #8, The Rebel, which was a little dissapointing.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Series Ever! So sad., June 27, 2000
By A Customer
Well, its the 2nd to last book in the series, and this one was still as exciting and as full as surprises as the last ones. Max is getting pulled deeper and deeper into the consciousness, and is out of it most of the time. Personally I think the whole conscious thing stinks. Isabel starts to get her akino, but, she really doesn't want to, because she can see what it has done to Max. I think Isabel was really brave in this book. Alex the ladykiller in this book was hilarious, even if he was ignoring his friends. But, of course he prevailed in the end. The ending is soo sad and soo surprising. I'm not going to tell you anymore because it will ruin about the whole book, just read it and find out. --Rachel

5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING AND EXCITING AND DEFINITELY A CLIFF HANGER!, July 9, 2000
By A Customer
This book was really good just like the rest of the series. The ending took a major turn that I never expected! This book was awesome! I loved it and what happened. I will warn you someone does die in this book. It is sad how it happens. The group does get even with Dupris. He deserves it after everything he did though. I can't wait for the next one. I read this book within 2 hours. I never put it down once. I couldn't stop reading it because it was so good. If you read the books I also recommend the tv show on the WB. That is great because you get to see 2 different situations and story lines so its double the fun. READ THE BOOKS AND WATCH THE SHOW THAT ARE MAGNIFICANT!

5.0 out of 5 stars a must read, May 9, 2001

oh this a great one. max is being drawn deeper and deeper inot the consciosness. while this is going on, isabel starts feeling sick like her bones are crumbling. after a few days of this she realizes that she is going through her akino. after seeing what joining the conscious has done to max, she swears that she will die first rather than join. she enlists michael's aid and he swears that he will stand by her to the bitter end if need be. he is a little weary himself considering that he will probably be next and he thinks(it is either become like a zombie like max or die) what a dilenema. how this one ends is well written and well thought out. i only hope that a talented writer like ms. metz would do the roswell groupies out here a favor and write some more novels.(how are you with buffy novel) just joking of course.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally! Micheal realizes what Maria means to him!, July 7, 2000
By A Customer
Book #9 has to have been one of my favs from this series since #3 the Seeker! As a die-hard Micheal and Maria fan, it was nice to see Micheal wanting to be w/Maria in #9, and then what Isabel says to him about Maria! Oh yeah!

3.0 out of 5 stars Maybe the most violent book in the series, April 8, 2006
By

(REAL NAME)
Starts off right where #8 left us with Kyle confronting the gang and Michael's brother trevor appearing to join up with the evil alien Dupris.
They get Maria's brother Kevin back and spend much of the rest of the book dealing both with Dupris and the fact that Isabel has now also developed the dangerous akino conditin.
Max wants her to join the collective consciousness while Michael and Isable herself do not. Supposedly Dupris is the leader of the rebel faction wanting to destroy the consciousness with the Stones of Midnight. Trevor claims that the condition is survivable without merging, it does turn out that he is telling the truth although it takes the use of a Stone to do it.
Dupris is killed in a battle near the end of the book, Trevor couldn't stand the way his "leader" was such a cold blooded killer.
As I understand it the Stones are necessary to survive akino, and to destroy the collective consciousness, and the gang now has two of the three stones their world had.
Now they've got to save Max- he's now so caught up in the consciousness that he can no longer get out.

5.0 out of 5 stars What an Awesome Series, June 26, 2000
By A Customer
This wonderful book series led us to the amazing new ten drama, Roswell. I am one of Roswells biggest fans. I can't wait to get a new book each month . Each book is full of suspense, love, and friendship. The Roswell craze will only get bigger with the new calender coming out the Meet the Stars book, and the television show being renewed. I can't wait to read this book and to see the new episodes starting this fall. But for now keep reading and watch Roswell on the WB monday nights at nine.

5.0 out of 5 stars All In All, A great book, July 5, 2000
By A Customer
Definitely suspenseful, a very good book! It delves into Michaels' character and relationship with Maria a lot-- Cameron's finally out of the picture! Michael has a lot to deal with in this book, and many times he channels out all his problems thinking about Maria. Max and Liz lovers beware! This book enters the level of unMax-Liznees that makes you want to be sick for a while. It sets up a scene for some real M/L action in book # ten, and you don't get ANY M/L action in this one, really. Has a lot of surprises with Trevor, Dupris, Kyle and Adam-- two people die before the end of the book, and one is sent away to a mental institution. Really a cliffhanger ending-- and not a good one for you Max Evans fans!

4.0 out of 5 stars Surprising twist to an Interesting Plot, July 4, 2000
By A Customer
Melinda and company have been taking all of the books on an interesting curve. The book was wonderful, except, of course, for it's apparent lack of Michael and Maria interaction...there was some, but there's never enough for this Candygirl. As for the book, It was well written and it was fast reading. I read most of it today :) But there was a part that I was extremely disappointed with, and it completely blew me out of the water that this happened. So, because of this unfortunate part, I had to give it only 4 stars...when I would have given it 5. But it's worth reading, so go get it, and find out what happens.
