This review is from: Dark Palace of Waterfalls (Audio CD)
It doesn't happen to me often, but this band really impressed me. I really can't stop listening to this album. Besides the fact that the music is very good, I like the attitude of this American group. `Dark Palace Of Waterfalls' just oozes originality in every way. The cover art was done by a Polish artist Vinodiuz and while the use of color pencil isn't an industry standard, he illustrates the mood of this album perfectly. Diana Adams' vocals are a harsh mix of Shagrath and Nergal coupled with clean female vocals reminiscent of Ingrid Pitt's work with Cradle Of Filth. The male vocals sound at times like recent James Hetfield but I'll forgive them for that. The solos on this album are amazing with classic metal guitar tones. This album is a string of moods that flow through each other provided by a clean-cut production. Dark Palace Of Waterfalls represents a worthy addition to the world of music. 13 Winters is a talented, inspired dark/death metal band that stands out of the crowd.
