Mysterious!, August 11, 2007
This review is from: Dark Prince (Paperback)
Jane Heartherington is a woman whose strength and integrity shine from the start of this work until the finish. My heart joined with this woman as she struggled with the hand that life had dealt to her. Haunted by the past and the death of her beloved mother, she is thrust into the center of a well-thought out plan of revenge against her father and soon Jane belongs to Aidan Warrich, as her father betrays her love and cast her away as payment for a debt of long ago. Her life is no longer her own as she struggles to learn the truth behind the debt she is paying, the truth of the man who now claims her as his own, and who her father really is and what is the secret of his past; now she is plunged into a life plagued with mystery and danger.
Jane never figured into the equation that she would fall in love with her captor, nor the fact that she would eventually have to face the entire truth of her father, no matter how terrible it might be. What a ride of a read this one is.
Our author, Eve Silver has taken in my opinion a giant leap in her writing. This work is laced with mystery, love ,and twisted half truths that leave you baffled trying to figure them out. Good job! I was glued to this book from beginning to end. It is one filled with heated emotions, unquenched anger and deep seeded obsessions that desperately need closure, yet laced within and brought to the surface is a love deeper than the sea that will leave you breathless at the conclusion. This is an outstanding read and one I am proud to give my recommendation to.

Dark Prince, September 6, 2007
This review is from: Dark Prince (Paperback)
Jane Heatherington has just found out her innkeeper father has to sell her into indentured servitude or lose the family inn. Jane has just met the new owner of Trevisham House. He can be no other, with his power, his proud bearing, and his confidence. He intrigues her.
Aidan Warrick is a man with a dark past. He sees Jane as the daughter of the enemy he hates, but at the same time he is feels protective, and something even more personal when he looks upon her. His life has not been easy and revenge has become as much a part of him as the act of breathing.
The longer they are together the more the attraction hits them.
Dark Prince is a dark, bittersweet and moody romance. It drew my attention and held it. I enjoyed the characters and their developmental growth. Eve Silver has written a book that one does not want to put down. I suggest this book for a quiet night when you want to read an intelligent romance.

Superb Gothic Romance!, August 7, 2007
This review is from: Dark Prince (Paperback)
Put together a dark and stormy night, shipwreckers, smugglers, and rumors, a brooding and handsome man, a beautiful, but flawed woman sold into bondage, and a story packed with suspense! That is Eve Silver's new release Dark Prince. Ms. Silver has brought back the classic Gothic Historical with an extremely well-written and developed story and characters. A book that simply cannot be put down and a great late summer read!
The moors of Cornwall is the backdrop to the intrigue. When the dark, handsome Aidan Warrick shows up for revenge against the father of the beautiful and crippled, but not helpless, Jane Heatherington, sparks fly and rumors and gossip of death and destruction abound. Jane has suffered emotional and physical abuse by her father for years. He has blamed Jane for the death of her mother, which just happened to be the same accident in which Jane also became crippled. His rough verbal abuse, together with the physical abuse of making her work long days and nights at his local inn, has not broken Jane's spirit. So when Aidan shows up and forces Jane's father into signing her away as a bondswoman into the service of this handsome, dark, and mysterious man, her kind heart and optimistic spirit agrees, feeling the exchange of one cruel life for another in order to save her father from ruin will be difficult and one more thing she will have to endure. But Jane is surprised and confused when Aidan turns out to be kind and protective to her and her feelings of hurt and frustration over her crippled emotional and physical life. As Aidan and Jane's attraction and desire grows, the struggles of their past blend into their current relationship, and the reader becomes intrigued by more than one outcome. Who is the local shipwrecker that has been responsible for so many deaths for so many years? What will happen to the beautiful Jane, now signed away to another life of service? What are the deep, dark secrets of Aidan Warrick at Tevisham House?
What is most enjoyable about this book is that Ms. Silver has accomplished what is difficult for most suspense writers. The true villians are unsuspected and there are many surprises at the end!
Dark Prince is an excellent story and a book not to be missed. Fans of the Gothic will definitely be adding this book to their collections, awaiting the next release!
