Lot's of thinking, no actual romance, June 18, 2001
This review is from: Dark Sapphire (Dark Jewels Trilogy) (Paperback)
Where was the romance? The characters didn't even really know each other. Don't get me wrong, there was action but little romance. There was little communicating, just a lot of thinking. By the end, one has to wonder how the two of them fell in love when they barely knew each other. I gave it 2 stars because it wasn't boring but had action. There wasn't much of a romance in the story.

And it went on, and on and on............. ugh!!!, September 2, 2007
This review is from: Dark Sapphire (Dark Jewels Trilogy) (Paperback)
This book had an interesting enough story line, but I found that the way it was delivered was lacking. I found the writing boring and it did not quite grip me. I found the characters where lacking and that some of their relationships where a bit far fetched and unbelievable.
I give it two stars only because the concept of the story was interesting and some of the action scenes where good allowing me to actually finish the book. I won't be rushing out to pick up another book by Lisa Jackson any time soon.

Intriguing. Keeps You in Suspense, August 13, 2000
This review is from: Dark Sapphire (Dark Jewels Trilogy) (Paperback)
Eleven years ago Sheena saved Keegan's life, a fact that he cannot presently remember. Now, she is being sought for the murder of her husband on her wedding night and stowsaway on Keegan's ship, Dark Sapphire. She is discovered several days later and although Keegan thinks he has seen her before, he does not really remember her, although she remembers Keegan.
Sheena is frightened and eventually jumps ship and swims to shore, almost drowing in the process. A farmer finds her and takes her to his home; however, he also found the jewels hidden in her boots and takes one of them. Sheena is trying to reach her father, Jestin, so she can explain what occurred on her wedding night, but Fawn, Jestin's wife and Sheena's stepmother, has her knight, Morgan, searching for Sheena. Fawn is not a nice person. She has borne Jestin three daughters and is again pregnant, swearing she carries a son who will inherit Jestin's fortune.
Sheena and Keegan meet again and spend some time together; however, they are captured by Morgan and she is brought before her father and Keegan's crew are guarded on ship. The Dark Sapphire which was initially taken by Keegan some eleven years before and which he has forgotten, reappears.
All is not what it seems between Fawn, Jestin and Morgan. Fawn has her long awaited son, but all is not well.
This story moves pretty fast, but I can't see giving it five stars.
