His critics dismiss Texe Marrs with the label "Fundamentalist Christian." So be it. But at least he takes a stand. At least he reads the Bible of his faith. At least he applies it to the world around him.

I like Marrs' books. They have the excitement of conspiracy theory. But grounded in Bible study. If you don't believe in the Bible (or are afraid your friends...

If you don't believe in the Bible (or are afraid your friends will think you're a nut if you do) you probably won't like his books. But if you're into Bible prophecy, and use the Christian Bible to guide your life, then I think you'll appreciate Marrs' perspective.

I'll admit, I try not to put any Christian writer on a pedestal. God is still the definitive Author. But there's a place for writers who use the Bible to comment on current events. I appreciate the work they do. Especially when it prompts me to go back and read Bible passages they've pointed out.

So, Mr. Marrs: I thank you for taking so much flak, yet still keeping the faith. And I eagerly await your next book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Important factual information, June 28, 2010

This review is from: Dark Secrets of the New Age: Satan's Plan for a One World Religion (Paperback)
A well written introduction to the New Age. What is the New Age? The author convincingly shows that while Christianity is going through varying degrees of criticism that replacement beliefs are being promoted. That unidentified "spirit guides" wish to take control if you let them. That for some decades, a new awareness or consciousness or even the physical manifestation of some being will usher in a pseudo-utopia and/or another step in man's development.

An actual look at history shows that these things did not happen but even today, people are being asked to believe something else. In summary: the author cautions Christians to be wary of deceptions, to be wary of strange sounding ideas that promise amazing things, and to watch as they continue to reimagine and repackage themselves. There are people out there who are committed to these things and they wish others to join them. There is real evil out there.

This book is a must read! It really explains what the NAM is and what it is all about. Given how long ago it was written, it's scary to see how much the NAM has crept into our everyday lives. I bought a couple copies for family members that are into the NAM. I'm praying this book will turn them away from it.

I'm about half way through the book and I'm just glued to it.....
What awsome research done by Texe Marrs. He just nails it to the core.
The rejection of christianity through the New age religion to usher in a new way of thinking.
Texe explains the doctrines and the errors of the new age gurus with 600 quotations from their leaders.
Basically, Satan (Lucifer) decieves the world into thinking that they are gods and they don't need to seek redemption from GOD because they are gods.....
The same lie that the serpent (Lucifer) told EVE in the garden of eden....

5.0 out of 5 stars When Truth is Proclaimed those Ensnared will Scoff, February 5, 2006

This review is from: Dark Secrets of the New Age: Satan's Plan for a One World Religion (Paperback)
I dislike labeling any subject as a "Conspiracy" whereas the vision of a wild-eyed fanatic is immediately attached. Sometimes however, that is the best term to use and accurately applies to the New Age. Having spent much time in the ministry, authoring articles worldwide and a website dedicated to unmasking the movement, I can vouch for the authenticity of the content found in this book. The New Ager will only interpret bigotry and narrow-minded philosophies propagated in material such as this. I can understand and do sympathize. However, the truth must be proclaimed so that error may be illuminated. The ancient lord of the lost has used these methodologies unveiled from the beginning of mankind, branded by many different labels. Lucifer has not had to change his strategies, for they work perfectly. The unenlightened whose eyes are veiled, who follow the system, are woefully ignorant of the poison they drink. Enough mother earth 'sugar' is added to disguise the taste of deception. Texe Marrs valiantly exposes the satanic ploy of old and dismantles it one brick at a time.

2.0 out of 5 stars A CONSPIRACY-CENTERED INTERPRETATION OF THE "NEW AGE",, June 17, 2011
This review is from: Dark Secrets of the New Age: Satan's Plan for a One World Religion (Paperback)
Texe W. Marrs is an American author and conspiracy theorist. Prior to 1987 he was a prolific author of nonfiction books on subjects such as career preparation. This 1987 book became a #1 bestseller in the Christian book market in 1988. He followed this book up with Mystery Mark of the New Age: Satan's Designs for World Domination, Ravaged by the New Age: Satan's Plan to Destroy Kids, and New Age Cults & Religions. His most recent books have alleged vaster conspiracies involving Freemasonry, the Illuminati and Zionism (e.g., Conspiracy World: A Truthteller's Compendium of Eye-Opening Revelations and Forbidden Knowledge, Codex Magica: Secret Signs, Mysterious Symbols, and Hidden Codes of the Illuminati, Mysterious Monuments: Encyclopedia of Secret Illuminati Designs, Masonic Architecture, and Occult Places, Conspiracy of the Six-Pointed Star: Eye-Opening Revelations and Forbidden Knowledge About Israel, the Jews, Zionism, and the Rothschilds, etc.).

In the Preface to this 1987 book, Marrs wrote, "Satan has a plan for a One World Religion and a One World Government. How do we know this? It is revealed in Bible prophecy... The Bible envisions a period of increasing rebellion against God culminating in the Great Tribulation... During this period, the nations of earth will be transformed into a one world political system and religion. This will be accomplished according to The Plan of the dark forces that oppose God... Even now, a man is perhaps being groomed to be this world ruler. I do not know when he will come forth, though the time must surely be drawing near... I am not prone to hasty, ill-considered judgments or snap decisions... This is why I decided to investigate for myself by thoroughly researching the New Age Movement, its roots, and its activities and goals... You should know, if you are a Christian... that you are a primary target of The Plan... This is why the subversion and conquest of Christianity if the number one priority for those involved in carrying out The Plan."

Here are some additional quotations from the book:

"Christians who resist The Plan will be dealt with. If necessary, they will be exterminated and the world 'purified.'" (Pg. 17)
"Clearly, when the call comes from their Master (Satan), the entire panopoly of New Age organizations can spring into action. There is definitely a conspiracy." (Pg. 54)
"I am often asked: Is the New Age Movement a conspiracy? My answer is that while the New Age may not be a secretive HUMAN conspiracy in the classic sense of the term, it IS nevertheless a conspiracy, one of global dimensions." (Pg. 99)

1.0 out of 5 stars Paranoia, thy name is Texe., November 10, 1999
By A Customer
With his flair for conspiracy mongering, this guy could link Mother Teresa to the Mafia. He sees a dark motive behind every imaginable product, corporation, and person. For instance, the Lucent technology from Bell Labs is from Satan! How does Texe come up with this? Simple. The logo is a circle of flame. "Lucent" is very similar to "Lucifer," and Lucifer masquerades as an angel of light (thus the fiery ring.) Well, Texe, one out of three is not a passing grade (the Bible does say that Satan can pose as an angel of light...) If you want to become distrustful of everybody and every thing you come in contact with, read Texe. If not, remember, Women are from Venus, but Texe is from Marrs.

This review is from: Dark Secrets of the New Age: Satan's Plan for a One World Religion (Paperback)
This book is an important tool for the discerning Christian. The author does a thorough job of defining the New Age movement, exposing its agenda and expounding upon the future plans for the syncretism of the New Age movement and Christianity. Some books of this type loose relevance as the years pass; this book has gained significance. The best feature about this book is the meticulous documentation that is provided. If you have trouble believing the authors premise, then research his sources, and you will see that if anything he has gone a little too easy on the New Age movement.

Also, this book is a very easy read. It is written in a very plain and common style and flows nicely from beginning to end.
