I, too, don't really have anything more to say on the subject, but I can't submit otherwise.

**UPDATE note 6/24/13 ** Amazon track listing omits Barry White's song (#6) there are 11 tracks on the CD, not 10.
Missing are (at least):
1. Theme from "A Summer Place" (1959 movie) #1 Billboard Hit (instrumental / arr. Percy Faith) for the year 1960.
2. Paranoid (by Black Sabbath)
3. Crocodile Rock (by Elton John)
4. Superfly (by Curtis Mayfield)
5. Go All The Way (cover, by The Killers; orig. = Raspberries) ... It is excellent, by the way.

As the movie is set in the 70's this is a nice mix of songs to compliment things. Even gives you a real bit of nostalgia if you're either of a certain age or an original Dark Shadows fan. But let's face it- when you mix The Carpenters with Barry White, Alice Cooper, T.Rex and even some of Danny Elfman's score tracks, you're really pushing the envelope. lol It's still a good match for the movie's mix of campiness and gothic spook, and kinda fun in its own right.

This is the soundtrack album for the 2012 Dark Shadows movie is the album that
features pop-rock music from the 1970s such as The Moody Blues, Carpenters, Alice Cooper, Barry White, etc..
The original score composed by Danny Elfman for the 2012 movie is featured on the separate score CD.

It is nice to see Tim Burton and Johnny Depp paying tribute to Dark Shadows, even if some oldtime and overly-
protective fans may not care for their affectionate attempt to add more humor to the highly dramatized style of Dark Shadows.
While the 2012 film is certainly not perfect, it is a fascinating blend that Tim Burton and Johnny Depp put together --
a huge undertaking to bring Dark Shadows to a new audience and not simply try and pointlessly photocopy the original.

The vintage songs from the era in which the movie is set, 1972, are terrific timepieces and all still sound fresh today.

A nice mix of contemporary pieces and dark original pieces. Well worth the price for some excellent music. Go see the film as well, the performance by Alice cooper is reason enough.

I loved that the movie opened with "Nights in White Satin" and wish it had more of the songs from the film. Many have been upset at the movie, but it was meant as a spoof and is well done. I laughed so hard I cried at the clever jokes. Mind you, I watched Barnabas Collins for many years and there was no comedy in the soap opera. The humor works for me and the 2nd Alice Cooper song and the recitation by Depp of "The Joker" were the reasons I bought the cd.

I'm searching high and low for the movie's closing credit song "Go All The Way"; a cover of the Raspberries song done by The Killers. They not only nail this song, it, in my opinion, is better than the original (although the original is very good too). I can't find this song for download ANYWHERE! Seriously?????

I would buy this album in a heartbeat but they didn't put the Killers cover of the Raspberries song "Go all the way" on it. It played during the credits and I would love to have the song be part of the album.

Great songs from the 60s and 70s...I admit quite an unusual mix. This would be perfect if it had the Killer's cover of Go All The Way.
