This is TRUE AMBIENT,

Very Original. This is by far, so far, the best ambeient album I've come across. Spacey, galactic, ultra soothing, yet the tracks are full of energy. Even the lengths of the tracks are ambient. The artist(s) took their time in evolving the dialogue between the instruments. Long minutes of joy. Enjoy.

Namlook lover,
By Greg Hill (Sacramento, CA) - See all my reviews

I bought this cd a few months ago and its a pretty good one. Like most electronic cds, thre are some good songs(parts) and some that suck. Overall, this is a good cd with some real good moments.. Lots of weird analogue sounds(Synthi AKS!)There are some other Fax(Namlook) cd's that are a lot better. I think the best cd of the bunch(Dark side of the Moog) is #7.. Its unbelievable! I have evey one of the DSOM and the 5th and 7th in the series are the best ones. Overall Namlook has loads of cds that are good. He is #1 in the electronic/ambient music field! try: S.H.A.D.O!

Best of DSOM,

Full of verve, texture, and throbbing momentum reminiscent of Tangerine Dream's ENCORE; magnificently recorded, almost literally jumps out of your speakers; great signature rhythms; part 1 alone reaffirms why I've always loved this kind of music in the first place. Great for high speed driving! There isn't a bad entry in the entire DSOM series; my faves are 3,4,7 and of course 8. The newest release (#9, Set Controls For The Heart of the Mother) is quite nice too, slowly growing on me (if your favorite DSOM is #7, you may have a new fave).I jot this down as I enthrall to the new EVOLUTION OF THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOOG - 6 stars! A high water mark for Schulze & company and the entire genre.

The Return of the Master,
This review is from: Dark Side of the Moog 8 (Audio CD)
Like many, I'd given up on Klaus Schulze after the 1970's, and so it was with some nervousness that I decided to grab this album. Well, it's turned out to be an amazing experience. Schulze and Namlook retain the analog atmospheres, swirling electronics, and vocoders of thier earlier work, while combining them with more updated electronica techniques. Yes, there are drums, but unlike most of Schulze's attempts at updating his sound, these beats flow in effortlessly with the overall mood, enhancing it rather than distracting from it. In addition, unlike most Schulze releases, this album is not a dark and moody excursion throughout it's entirety. There are moments of great calmness, and a sense of vitality that has been missing from SChulze's work for a long time. I very highly reccommend this album.

As always - Klaus Delivers,
This review is from: Dark Side of the Moog 8 (Audio CD)
If you liked anything from Klaus you will like this one as well. It's the same Klaus but expanding his music sound to even a higher art. Never heard of Klaus? If you can get your hands on this one you will know who he is and is a good first start.
