Jo Lansdale is still grieving for her husband, Michael, who died in a car accident two years earlier. Then Jo meets Tom, who offers a safe haven and a lot more than friendship. The strength of Jo's reaction to Tom's good looks and comfortable personality shocks her. But even as she reaches out for happiness, her world is turned upside down all over again--first when someone tries to kidnap her young daughter, Molly, and then when she learns that Michael was involved in an illegal time-share business, and his associates are either dying or disappearing in mysterious circumstances. Vowing to learn the truth, she is suspicious of everyone, including Tom, and finds herself trapped in a nightmare of danger and deceit. As usual, though, Tanner ties up all the unpleasant ends and brings the story to a satisfyingly romantic ending. Entertaining and enjoyable for those who like their romantic suspense heavy on the suspense. Emily Melton
