4.0 out of 5 stars A gaudy Collector's Edition for an amazing game. April 24, 2014
Platform for Display:PC| Edition:Collector's Edition|Verified Purchase
I am not going to write about the game here. It has already been written about exhaustively. I love it and the the PC version runs at true resolutions and at 60 fps. It's got a ton of graphic options and even runs well even on a PC of modest caliber.
What I am going to write about are the extras the Collector's Edition contains. First off, there is no game disc only a Steam download code. Kind of a bummer but I knew this going in. Also, you get the Steam preorder upgrades.
Let's start off with the biggie:
The Statue~ This thing is a hulking, gaudy 12' tall thick replica of a Forossan Knight wearing the Faraam set. I am not a fan of this set and to me, the statue looks a tad corny. But it is well made barring the atrocious paint job which is to be expected, I guess. You could easily apply a wash to the fur and highlight it with white and gray and touch up the rest of it to make it look much better. The statue comes with two longswords, although they aren't replicas of the in game models for those weapons. They look more like claymores. Removing the pommels allows you to fit the swords in the knight's hands.
The map~ It looks nice although it's a tad thin. It is microfiber and depicts the land of Drangleic. Many areas in the game appear on it although there names are in some fictional tongue. The map is colored as parchment. I would have preferred it colored with a multitude of hues but I am sure they were setting a tone. It measures in at 11 1/2 x 16 1/2 ".
The art book~ This is why I got the CE and I am pleased. It is a small size hardcover format, similar in stature and format to the book that came with the European Prepare to Die edition.

Bought this for my husband as a late birthday gift. It wasn't available to ship until the 25th of April. I was VERY pleased to get it on my doorstep by the 28th! Very speedy service! Nothing was broken, everything was how it should be. Soundtrack is amazing, the statue is really badass, and the artbook is gorgeous. It is WELL worth the money. 10/10 no doubt. He loves it. I'm wife of the year. ^_^

5.0 out of 5 stars I've been waiting for this moment for all my life. April 25, 2014

Umbasa! Praise the sun! It's finally here!
First off to make it easy on you. It comes with everything it advertises in the picture.

Art book
Cloth Map
Embossed Metal Case with sleeve
SOUNDTRACK!!!!
12" Statue (The swords actually come out of his hands! You just pop off the pommel and the slip into his hands. Which I thought was pretty freakin awesome!)
All of the preorder DLC

Yes, for some of you its a downer, it doesn't come with the game CD. Just the Steam download code. For me it's not a down point though because once I install it onto my PC the case goes on the shelf and only comes off to get dusted once a week. The soundtrack is going straight to my Amazon Prime Library and then into my pickups CD player.

2.0 out of 5 stars False Advertisement May 26, 2015

Awesome game + items. I ordered the disk gams because we get .7Mb download speed and the game is roughly 14GB. Instead, i got a soundtrack disk that wasnt held down and got completely scratched due to handling, and a card with a activation key for the game's download via steam. If i wanted to download the game, i would've just bought it through steam. Atop of that, the Mp3 is also via download so I guess the disk is pointless? Anyway i hate seeing bad reviews on Amazon because i think people just got a bad batch and are ranting irrationally. But i dont believe it's rational to say the disk is included only to make them wait 1 day 9 hours for their game to download. I give the 2 stars for the amazing items, game, and DLC.

4.0 out of 5 stars Got what I wanted, I guess. May 27, 2014
Platform for Display:PC| Edition:Collector's Edition|Verified Purchase
This game wasn't a waste of time, it's kind of lame that you only get a code instead of a cd to install from.
The gameplay is way different than in the first Dark Souls game, instead of having thresholds in carry-weight where it's "fat-roll", "slow-roll", "fast roll 1" etc. it's smoother allowing for more freedom.
What I didn't like was the new hub-town-area where you need to go to level up. This was incredibly distracting since the music that played in that area started with a percussion sound, which isn't a good idea when you're only in the town for less than 30 seconds at a time.
I've played it for over 100 hours, but since my primary steam-account has recieved VAC bans for playing unrelated games I couldn't play this game in multiplayer on it, instead I created another account and shared the libraries, but due to how much of a hassle it is to sign out of steam and sign in again whenever I want to play a game I've stopped for now.
The graphics can only extend the mood and atmosphere, and this game lacks in both, I had to turn of the music because of how annoying the majula theme was.
Now to the obvious question: Is this game harder than Dark Souls? Well, yes and no, difficulty spikes are all over the place and once you realize that you can repair a ring that makes death insignificant but breaks for only 3000 souls death becomes permanently insignificant. Some bosses where laughably easy and some where artificially hard. And there's no Smough and Ornstein-level of boss, which is a shame since they were the best bosses in Dark Souls.
I think I'll have to wait a year or so until I can give a better, clear and unbiased review.

4.0 out of 5 stars and map are pretty sweet though
The game was poorly converted from console to PC. The controls are shoddy, but its playable when you alter you key setup. The figure, and map are pretty sweet though.

Did not play but everything is amazing. The figurine is much bigger than my imagination, the steelbook is made in 3D just like "The Shadow of Modor". I love it so much.
