This is a must have for all you dark romantics...Dark moody vocals over atmospheric dance music, something like Peter Murphy over Dead Can Dance over Thrill Kill Kult... but then nothing like it at all, and the vocals are better. I can't quite fit it into a trite little classification, so buy it and see if you can't write a better review. Also give QNTAL & Estampie (in the classical section a go) as they are products of mostly the same minds. Both do songs of an ancient nature, QNTAL with synthesizers, Estampie with the instruments of yore. For the record "Deine Lakaien" is German (means: Your Lackey), though 98% of the groups songs are in English. So no worries there if you happen to hang ups that keep your ears away from music sung in languages you don't grock. |
