4.0 out of 5 stars Climax of a Trilogy, October 3, 2004
This review is from: Dark Star (Perfect Paperback)
This is the third and final book of Marcia Muller's Joanna Stark trilogy, completing the saga of her art security expert's duel with her nemesis Parducci. The first was: "The Cavalier in White" and the second is "There Hangs the Knife." Actually, I liked the first one best and this one second of the 3. It's interesting to see Muller write of protagonists other than Sharon McCone--demonstrates her breadth of talent. Also, the Stark trilogy is heavily into the world of art and art theft as well as a series of books (like Sherlock Holmes vs. Professor Moriarty) with a continuing struggle between two characters (Stark and Parducci). Muller slowly and teasingly provides detail after detail to fill in the prior relationship between these two characters--considerably enlivening the tales. This book is a joy to read, and it's worth reading the entire trilogy. Enjoy!
