4.0 out of 5 stars Play the game, read the book., July 19, 2009

Those of you who have played the Warhammer Online game will appreciate this book as it has portrayal of an Archmage, White Lion, Witch Hunter, The Chosen, Sorcerer, Disciple of Kain, bright Wizard, Knight of Blazing Sun (I think). You'll love how your favourite characters come to life and will relate to your online characters more.

Though the story portrays events before the elves and dwarves join the war, it still is a pretty much fun read. I think old school Warhammer fans who does not play the game might be a little bit confused because the plot in this and the earlier title (Empire in Chaos) relates to events that happened to the game and not the Warhammer continuity.

But still, its a fun read and there are so buy a copy today, I swear you won't regret it.

This is war! This book is the second based on the most excellent mmorpg-Warhammer online. It still continues the dark and horrible war that is ravaging all lands. Good characters with the evil side being highlighted as well. A must for people who want action.

2.0 out of 5 stars Could it get more generic?, April 30, 2010
This review is from: Dark Storm Gathering (Warhammer Online) (Mass Market Paperback)
While certainly not the worst fantasy book I've ever read (that award goes to The Goblin Plain War) it really comes across as if it were written with a hat full of tropes right next to the author which he used to generate the entire story. Chock full of generic fantasy cliches it fails miserably when compared to the other Warhammer titles I've read (Gotrek and Felix, Tales of the Old World, WitchHunter stories, etc.). Can I get a refund? No? Good thing it was given to me as a gift!
