MORE THAN MEN

The man had secrets…

Blindsided by a hurricane, Katie Flynn was seeking shelter from the storm—but all she found was a moody, broody recluse named O'Neal. Trapped with him in his house on a windswept cliff overlooking the wildly tossed sea, Katie tried to fight the feelings O'Neal awakened in her—both of sensuality and fear. She began to suspect that something haunted the tall, gray-eyed man's domain, something more than the wicked servants or family ghosts…something strange that only O'Neal himself could reveal.

Anne Stuart

Three-time winner of the prestigious Romance Writers of America RITA Award!

More About the Author

I've been writing since the dawn of time. A child prodigy, I made my first professional sale to Jack and Jill Magazine at the age of 7, for which I received $25 (admittedly my father worked for the publisher). Since then I've written gothics, regencies, romantic suspense, historical romance, series romance -- anything with sex and violence, love and redemption. I misbehave frequently, but somehow have managed to amass lots of glittering prizes, like NYT, PW and USA Today bestseller status, Lifetime Achievement Award from the Romance Writers of America, and a decent smattering of Romantic times and RITA awards.
I live on a lake in Northern Vermont with my incredibly fabulous husband. My two children have flown the coop, but the three cats do their best to keep us from being lonely.
In my spare time I quilt and play around with wearable art, and the rest of the time I write write write. Apparently women of a certain age get a rush of creativity, and I'm currently enjoying it. Too many stories to write, not enough hours in the day.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another dark torment heroes!!, September 26, 2002
This review is from: A Dark And Stormy Night: More Than Men No. 13 (Harlequin American Romance No. 702) (Paperback)
This is another wonderful tale from Stuart who gives you big book quality even in series romance. He is naturally dark and brooding, the O'Neil, living with his housekeeper and son on the edge of the Maine coast, hiding from deep dark secrets and torments that he could not save him family from drowning. Cursed to live alone.
She runs off the road in the middle of a hurricane to avoid hitting a ghostly little girl and it plunges her car into the deep waters of the sound. Just as she thought she was dying she is saved by O'neil.

Taking the old worst opening line to start a book and making it a title, Stuart gives you one great supernatural tale and another of her dark tormented heroes.

I could not put this book down. All I can say is if you loved Jane Yolens book "Greyling" as a child, you will love the shape-shifting hero O'Neal, and his ghostly family. This book is as good as it gets.

Pretty good series/paranormal Romance by an old favorite. Loved the Irish and supernatural aspect of the story. 3.5 stars.
