4.0 out of 5 stars Action Filled Boarding
An overall great piece of entertainment, Dark Summit combines strategy, action and sports all in one. You can just board around the mountain, go on the scouted game trail, or just play.

The manual has 2 pages solid of tricks you can do, and you can discover secret trick combos while playing. You can also find hidden trails, tunnels and paths through the mountain.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Mediocre Effort
This is a decent game- nothing more, nothing less. The graphics are OK and the gameplay is sufficient for snowboarding. I congratulate THQ on at least trying to put a different spin on an overexposed subgenre of sports games, but the hokey storyline and ease of reaching the summit left me unsatisfied. The game takes full advantage of the xbox's quick loading times and hard drive caching, allowing huge levels with unlimited options while playing.

Unlock new characters and boards by doing tricks for equipment points, and advance through the game to eventually beat it.

A must have! It will definitely hold you over until Amped is released!

this game is very fun, but unfortunatly it is very short and very easy, this is not a game to buy bcuz if u r a good xbox player like me u will finish this game in about 3-5 hours and b bored after that while playing again or multiplayer. If u want to buy it its okay but first RENT THE GAME and then buy it to c if for you it is easy or not

I congratulate THQ on at least trying to put a different spin on an overexposed subgenre of sports games, but the hokey storyline and ease of reaching the summit left me unsatisfied. The cartoonish aspect is a turn-off for me, but it would make a good game for those in the adolescent crowd who are uninitiated to the world of snowboarding games. Overall, I would give it a true rating of 2 1/2 stars... and I wish I would have bought "Amped."

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable mix of sports and story, December 4, 2001
This review is from: Dark Summit (Video Game)
I, for one, like the mission-oriented approach of this snowboarding game. The storyline is good if not remarkable, and it makes the gameplay very enjoyable. You are not just going for pure speed for 30 minutes of gameplay, but have tons of features to explore.

Game graphics is decent but unfortunately does not show off Xbox's capabilities. (C'mon, Microsoft, help Xbox developers do a better job!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Game Ever, April 7, 2002
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Dark Summit (Video Game)
This game is one of the coolest games that I have ever played. It 's very fun and if you like snowboarding this is the right game for you. You are trying to stop the evil corporation and you are not allowed to snowboard there, but you do. So they try to stop you from ruining their plans. The evil coorporation uses skiiers to try and stop the snowboarders.

3.0 out of 5 stars Graphics don't do justice do XBox, November 17, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Dark Summit (Video Game)
This game plays like any other skating/snowboarding game, so if you like that genre, you will like this game. However, the graphics are lame compared to other XBox titles. Looks like they dumbed down the graphics to make the port to PlayStation2 easier. It looks like sticking with XBox exclusive titles might be a wise choice, as those are the games with the best graphics.

3.0 out of 5 stars Perplexing?!, July 24, 2003

I give Dark Summit 3 stars. I wouldn't say it was the best game ever. The story line and acting was good if you like real cocky anime.
At the beginning you only get to play with one character. You'll have to literally beat the game to unlock the rest of the characters. One thing that was perplexing to me is why would you want to play with the rest of the characters and beat the game, and you already beat it with the first? It takes all the fun out the game itself.
I did, however, give it 3 stars because of the challenge it brought.

P.S. Please! Rent the game before buying. I was stupid enough to buy it. You don't be stupid and rent it first.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very inventive!, January 3, 2002

This game is quite interesting and diffirent. The graphics are freash and clean the gameplay is new. THIS IS NOT YOU TYPICAL SNOWBOARDING GAME! if your looking for one get Tricky! The gameplay is more missions i.e-knock someone over than apposed to races. The game lack is the atmosphere its OVERLY OVERLY dark and boring. You dont want that in a Action/adventure/sports game! there for i give it a four. real fun a DEFINITE rental!
