5.0 out of 5 stars Dark Sunshine is great!, February 12, 2004

This review is from: Dark Sunshine (Phantom Stallion #3) (Paperback)
This is my favorite of the Phantom Stallion series. My daughter is reading #10 right now...I am only on #7, but I am really enjoying these books! This series is great not only for kids, but for the grown-ups too! If you love horses, you'll love these books. Dark Sunshine is a wild mustange which had been used as a "decoy" to lead other mustangs into a trap. Sam uses her tremendous horse skills to save her and make the mare feel safe in her new home.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dark Sunshine- Seen Lighter Days, May 15, 2004

This review is from: Dark Sunshine (Phantom Stallion #3) (Paperback)
Terri Farley really exhibits her strength when it comes down to knowing the hard facts in her third book, Dark Sunshine. All of the information is well-organized and certainly accurate. You can't write a book like this unless you have really got your hands dirty and done it yourself, and I believe Farley has.

Sam is off on another crazy, exhilirating adventure, and she'll plop you on a horse for the ride. You get a real, in-depth feeling of really being out there, really seeing what's happening. Sam has to experiment with Dark Sunshine to get a response, and it is touching to read about the dedication and heart Sam displays so clearly. For young and old horse lovers alike, this book and the entire series is defintely worth reading!

5.0 out of 5 stars Dark Sunshine, December 31, 2002
This review is from: Dark Sunshine (Phantom Stallion #3) (Paperback)
In this book, Sam rescues a buckskin mare who has been horribly treated by her previous owners. "Sunny" is skitish and frightened, and reacts violently to people. To make things worse, Dad and Gram have agreed to go along with a program called HARP, where at risk kids work on training mustangs. This means that Sam and Jake must open River Bend Ranch to a rebelious girl called Mikki. And Dad and Brynna Olsen seem to be seeing a lot more of each other than they should.

This was a great book! It had a lot of emotion and it was nice to see a new character. There was lots of action--definately a top book in the series. Loved it and can't wait for more!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Unique and Uplifting Story, July 1, 2004
This review is from: Dark Sunshine (Phantom Stallion #3) (Paperback)
Like all the other books in this series, this book is incredibly well written. The author creates images within words, sending the readers imagination on a joy ride. Terri Farley has a wonderful and beautiful way of bringing things to life, and to me, Sam, Dark Sunshine, Ace, and the Phantom are all real. I often end up imagining myself in Sam's shoes, looking into the deep, gorgeous chocolate eyes of the buckskin mare she falls in love with on the side of a mountain. Dark Sunshines condition is heart-renching, descriped so vividly, it makes all horse lovers shudder. Can Sam save this horse--and make her useful on the ranch?

This review is from: Dark Sunshine (Phantom Stallion #3) (Paperback)
This book was awesome! It was so suspenseful, I couldn't believe it. I think this is my favorite of them all. It is so sad at the beginnig though, with the horse rustlers. I wanted to cry! But it's so great you should definitely buy it.

This book is definently a good one, you start reading it and you just dont' want to put it down! Terri keeps you interested by describing things perfectly, allowing you to actually picture exactly what is going on! This is a book that I take with me whenever I go on a trip. The others are good, but they just haven't moved me as much as this one. It is a totally awesome book and I encourage everyone who loves the series to read it! ONce you read it you'll love it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Well Written, September 4, 2008
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Dark Sunshine (Phantom Stallion #3) (Paperback)
I like all the phantom stallion books.

They don't have lot's of romance stuff like some

other horse series and they're a little longer than

most horse series, but they don't drag out. which I like.

they're extremely well written.

5.0 out of 5 stars By Far the best!, December 26, 2006
This review is from: Dark Sunshine (Phantom Stallion #3) (Paperback)
Dark Sunshine is my FAVORITE of all the books. It's action packed to say the least. Sam goes riding and see horse rustlers trying to trap wild horses to sell for dog food. They use a judas horse (Dark Sunshine) to lead the horses into a trap. The Phantom manges to save most of his herd but when the rustlers leave to take the three horses they caught to the auction or wherever, they leave Dark Sunshine! Sam takes Dark Sunshine, who's terrfied of humans back to River Bend. You also meet the first HARP girl, Mikki in this book. It's defintely my favorite!
