Michael's Review, January 9, 2007

A wonderful novel. The writing is superb and the control of pace excellent. The dark, brooding sense of unease of the novel is skillfully created and maintained. Not light reading.

As a local from which the setting takes place: and as a contempory of the author the plot of rural polical justice in its most qrotesque form is worthy of reading. It must have shocked the reviewer or it would have been on the best seller list for a long time.
