This review is from: The Dark of the Woods: Fairy Tales for Modern Times (Hardcover)
This anthology is actually two previously published anthologies put together in one book. If you own "A Wolf at the Door: And Other Retold Fairy Tales" and "Swan Sister: Fairy Tales Retold," you don't need this anthology, unless you want a hardcover version of the two together. I did not know this prior to ordering it because no one had written a review for the book yet. But a quick glance at the table of contents set off alarm bells because I knew I had seen those same titles recently in another book. So I just wanted to save people the slight frustration I felt when I realized I had bought the same thing twice. Yes, it is nice to have a hardcover version because of the durability compared to a paperback, but I probably would not have ordered this book if I had known of its contents before buying it. The stories included are wonderful, so if you don't have the two seperate anthologies, this would be perfect for you because you're getting two books for the price of one.
