Editorial Reviews

Trap Them return to the forefront of American extreme music with their latest masterpiece brutality, Darke Handcraft, their Prosthetic debut and follow up to 2008s Seizures In Barren Praise. The band once again recorded their metal, punk, d-beat, hardcore hybrid with Converge guitarist, Kurt Ballou at his God City Studios. Lyrically and sonically, Darker Handcraft is as bleak, angry and desperate as ever. The album s artwork was done by similar minded artist, Justin Bartlett, who has also collaborated with Trap Them, as well as Gorgoroth, Sunn 0))) and more.

Trap Them was formed in the early part of the decade in New England, by vocalist/lyricist Ryan McKenney and guitarist Brian Izzi who shared a love of bands such as Entombed, Black Flag, Basum and Tragedy. The lineup is completed by bassist Stephen LaCour and ex-Coliseum drummer Chris Maggio. Though the band has seen several lineup changes, they re more powerful than ever, even though you can find their members scattered in Louisville, Seattle and Austin.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm impressed! January 26, 2013
Format:MP3 Music|Verified Purchase
I rolled the dice on Trap Them when purchasing Darker Handcraft and I'm extreamly glad I did.

Darker Handcraft is like a mix between 'Axe To Fall era Converge and Every Time I Die.

The furiousness of the album apeals to me as does the great songwriting. The members of Trap Them truly mesh well on this album and make the listening experience very enjoyable.

The production rivals Converges masterpiece 'Jane Doe' which says a lot.

This will be an album that I'm still listening to in 10 years.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's Trap Them. June 14, 2011
Format:Audio CD
These are the best Trap Them songs written to date. They are fast. They are heavy. Good CD, I love it.
I hear a lot of Refused, in the CD. That's a good thing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing April 18, 2011
By James
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
This album blew me away.

I have come to expect a certain level of fury from this band, but none of their previous work has been so consistently catchy. The entire album rattles through your head for hours afterwards, providing a visceral death/grind soundtrack for your day.
