Book Description

June 1994
The second title in The Darker Passions series. In 1993 Amarantha Knight took Bram Stoker's classic Dracula, a tome heavy with the repressed sexuality of the Victorian age, and unrepressed it. The book was so successful that it spawned a series of seven erotic retellings of Victorian gothic novels, Rife with spankings, whippings, and the discovery of hidden sexualities, this version of Jekyll & Hyde explores the monster of lust that lurks inside even the most respectable characters.

5.0 out of 5 stars An erotic take on a horror classic, July 28, 2005

(REAL NAME)
If you're a fan of Victorian-style erotica, or find depictions of bondage and serious discipline erotic, then you will most likely find this version of the Jekyll & Hyde classic a whole lot of fun. The sex never lets up and the discipline scenes don't hold anything back--everyone imaginable gets their come-uppance in the best possible ways. Well written and, at times, wryly humorous. If you're more interested in reading the "real" story of Jekyll & Hyde you should skip this version. But if you enjoy well written BDSM erotica, this book won't disappoint.

3.0 out of 5 stars Jekyll, Hyde, and plenty of sex, January 6, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: The Darker Passions: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (Paperback)
I collect different versions of the old story of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, and I expected this one to be a bit daring. In fact, it was more than so... The book is actually rather well-written, but the sexual content would be more exciting if it didn't happen so very often, and for no appearent reason, between anybody and everybody who just happens to be in the same room toghether! More story and less sex and this would have been a rather good version of Jekyll & Hyde.
