3.0 out of 5 stars Reading ease
This book was not easy to read due to the excessive hyphenation. Words, names and places were hyphenated. Whoever reviewed the digitalization of this book and several others by the same author should be more careful. This is the only author that appears to have this problem.

I was introduced to Instincts series by reading Primal Intinct. I've become a bit impressed and didn't stop reading until I finish it. In his new thriller, Walker reached his glorious moment. An all-new history, exciting, full of adrenaline and suspense: Jessica and Eriq, chasing Patric-Tauman along the Pacific Ocean and Cayman Isles, in Caribe, passing through many troubles and difficult situations without giving it up. The final moments are simply "spicy", stunning, surprising. To increase the emotion of the moment, the return of James Parry and his helpful contribution to save his lover Jessica Coran. I'll never forget this book at all!

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good stuff but a bit too long, March 31, 1998
This review is from: Darkest Instinct (Paperback)
This is my first experience with the "Instinct" series and I enjoyed it, although I was able to put it down. The plot was good but not enough development of the serial killer or his victims. Somewhat wordy but the plot moves along. Not as good as the series with Dr. Scarpetta. I will try some earlier books in this series and I would recommend it if you like FBI serial killer type books, although the M.E. aspect is somewhat weak.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!!!, February 15, 1999

This review is from: Darkest Instinct (Paperback)
I was introduced to "instinct" books by reading "Fatal instinct" which took my breath away.It is a wonderful book with lots of details. Walker some how makes the book have more than one climax. He is an excellent writer and I recommend this book to anyone who likes serial killer books or is addicted to Walkers writing like me.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book scared me to death!!, November 1, 2011
This review is from: Darkest Instinct (Kindle Edition)
This book scared me so badly that I had to keep stopping and take breaks...especially if I was reading at night! I still refer to this book from time to time, even though I read it years ago. For me, it ranks up there with "Kiss the Girls."

1.0 out of 5 stars My instincts were wrong when they told me to get this book!, March 22, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Darkest Instinct (Paperback)
I think I took about 3 months to finish this book because it offered me no excitement, I had no desire to finish it, etc. Too wordy, and not suspenseful. The heroine didn't offer anything in terms of intelligence, or vulnerability, all we got of her was that she was so beautiful, and how desirable everyone found her, and who all her previous lovers were from the other books. This woman obviously gets around. I have no desire to read any other book about Dr Jessica Coran or her lovers (past, present and future). I was highly annoyed after I finished this book. Colossal waste of time.

1.0 out of 5 stars Waste Of Time, August 28, 1999

Superficial, simple and tedious. Walker is the Danielle Steele of the forensic thriller genre.
