Book Description

In dreams he comes to her...

Agent Malcolm Rook hunts for people with the rarest of talents--the ability to master dreams. He finds the undeniably gifted Jordan Lane, but she's wary of mysterious Rook and resists his pursuit as long as she can. When the dreamwaters they enter are too exhilarating to resist, their attraction explodes into passion. But delving too deep stirs a nightmare--one they must defeat together, or be forever lost to darkness.

Fans of paranormal romance and bad boys, get ready for a dark, sexy plunge into fantasy and desire. The Reveler Series is set in a contemporary world in which people can indulge in Rêve, or shared dreaming--a pop culture phenomenon sweeping the world. Imagine being able to fall asleep at night, only to wake in a dream world, one in which you are lucid and in control--where you can be anything you want to be and do anything you like. But you must be careful...dreaming can be as dangerous as it is seductive.

A hot paranormal romance.

Excerpt from Darkness Falls (copyright 2014 Erin Kellison):

"He's coming over soon."

Jordan froze in her tracks. "Who is?"

Belligerently, Maze lifted her gaze. "The total prick who's helping me. I told him that he had to pass the Jordan test, so will you be a good sister and give him Jordan-style hell?"

Jordan blinked. "One more time?"

Maze groaned. Put her bowl on the coffee table to grab for a soda can. In the morning. "You know, the 'official' guy I told you about who was going to help me with my Rêve issues?"

Oh. "He's coming here now?" Jordan looked at the barricaded door. Who set meetings so early in the morning?

Michael had said that others would want to recruit her, too, maybe even by making her disappear from her life.

So, no.

"Call your guy and reschedule," Jordan said. Maybe Michael could help her assess him. "I have to work. Real people go to work in the morning."

Sis rolled her eyes. "That's why he's coming so early. To catch you."

"Maisie, I'm not opening the door to a stranger."

"He's not a stranger. He's an asshole. There's a difference."

Sure enough, the doorbell rang, bing-bong. Jordan looked at the door, then back at Maisie, then down at her own pink pajamas. "No."

Maze threw her hands up. "Fine. Actually, I'm glad. I didn't want to work with him anyway. We'll go with your guy, Michael. I like him a lot."

"I like him, too," Jordan said, returning her attention to the door.

"Oh-ho-ho," sang her sister. "So the night went well, did it?"

3.0 out of 5 stars Where is the climax and ending? June 29, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I would actually give this 4 stars, except for the fact that it just cuts off. There is no climax to the story, nor a proper ending. The art of the story is lost with all the self publishing going on, and this book is a prime example of that.

That being said, I was intrigued by the idea and concept of the story. It is original, even if the character development wasn't quite what it could have been. The main character, Jordan, changes her personality without any real reason. The main male character, Malcolm, had a bit of a reason to change, and he seems to be more believable than Jordan. Right when the story was getting good, the book ended. If you cannot keep a reader interested enough to buy your next book without a cliffhanger ending, perhaps you should spend more time on developing your characters.

I will not be buying the next book any time soon. An author who attempts to force me into purchasing more books because they did not finish the story is lazy, and not worth my money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dreaming of the next book May 12, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
This book took me a little by surprise. I knew it was about being able to lucid dream and join other people in your dreams but I was surprised by the backstory of the dreaming. The book had just enough detail to make the world interesting and believable and not to much to get bogged down in details as some first books in a series have a tendency to do. I enjoyed the characters and of course there was just enough sexiness and romance. I was instantly intrigued and hooked from the first chapter and finished this book in one setting. The only downside is the book left a bit of a cliffhanger - had enough of a conclusion that I'm still giving it 5 stars but I can't wait for the next book to find out what happens! I highly recommend reading this book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Incomplete book July 1, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Bait and switch again! Great begining and plot - but this is not the full book! By the end of the free book there's so many unresolved plot lines that you can hardly say that there's been an ending. Otherwise: interesting, original topic; nice character development; good story pacing.... but incomplete. I really can't get a good feel if this is a series worth investing myself into with what little I've been allowed to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars To Dream Or Not To Dream ... May 23, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This series must be read in order. This is the first book.

At first I didn't understand what was going on... Much like Jordan I did not know what to make of the phenomenon of the Revelers but I was nonetheless sucked into the story from the very beginning! The author made me feel Jordan's apprehension and unease before I even knew what the wonder drug actually was. That is awesome writing for sure.

Rook on the other hand I could not bring myself to distrust even when he distrusted himself lol. I could just see beyond his petty recriminations somehow to the fact that as long as you are on his side you are safe. He thinks he is a villain but it is just not the case. I really love him as a character!

This book was a romantic suspense thriller with a dash of paranormal romance. I loved both main characters for their humor and wit in the face of challenges and adversity. I laughed a lot reading this book ... To the point I really got sick of answering what was so funny :D I am totally going to go start reading the next book Lay Me Down: Reveler Series 2 right now!

***This series is suitable for adult readers only

5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely different! June 17, 2014
By Mich_Mc
Format:Kindle Edition
Darkness Falls is the first in the brand new Reveler series from Erin Kellison and it was a thoroughly enjoyable read. I tend to enjoy paranormal tales with a slightly darker take and I believe this series might be right up my alley!

Imagine a world when you can be thrust into a dreamscape, a dreamscape where you not only have the ability to interact with other people, but also the ability to change what is going on around you. Like in all aspects of life, some people have a stronger affinity for it than others, and not all of these people fall on the side of good in the age old battle of good vs evil.

Darkness Falls gives us a tentative look into this new world I am excited to see where the series goes, and the different characters we will meet along the way. It's a unique take on the paranormal and I do not know what to expect next but I can't wait to find out!

5.0 out of 5 stars Darkness Falls (Reveler #1) May 13, 2014
By TracieR
Format:Kindle Edition
Malcolm Rook was recruited by the Chimera as a teenager. Now Malcolm is hunting the Reve for new recruits with the rarest of talents.

Jordan Lane is headed to the Envoi for a so called girls night out with her sister, one that she has spent everything she has to attend. Jordan has read so much about this place and it not so sure this is such a good idea.

As they delve into their dreamworlds Jordan and Malcolm's paths cross and it is not long before Jordan realises this is more than a girls night out. With her sister mixed up in something dangerous, Jordan is determined to find out what is really going on. Malcolm knows it won't be long before Jordan become the target but will she trust him and can he trust himself.

I found myself enthralled within Darkness Fall's storyline from the very beginning and fell in love with the strength and emotions of the characters and their stories. Praise to Erin Kellison for an amazing start to a new series and I look forward to the next instalment.
