Dr. Carey's books are very reader friendly and Scripturally based. I enjoyed this reading and gleaned alot from it.

The Title of this book includes: The Book on "Cult Recognition" which is NOT what the majority of this book discusses. The author covers Cult Recognition only after he has bashed Mormonism, Seventh-Day Adventists, Freemasonry, and Jehovah's Witnesses. In the final two pages, he lists 8 pretty sure signs that an organization is a Cult in hiding.
Dr. P. Bradley Carey is of the opinion that any organization which doesn't follow the Bible is a cult.
Don't waste your time or money by purchasing this book.

I was surprised to open my Amazon pkg to find an autographed copy. The author wrote: "Thank you for buying my book. I pray it is of help to you in your search for the truth". Dr. P. Braley Carey
The truth of the matter is I got a copy of a book with several typos, one of which was manually corrected using white-out and a marking pen! Did this copy ship from the authors garage or Amazon?

Dr. Carey's Book takes a lookat varous "christian" and "secular" groups and uses their own writings to show why those who find themselves drawn to these groups should take a serious look at their beliefs and dig a little deeper to find out what they really beleive.On a more flippnat side it also provides points of arguement when these groups come to you with their beliefs (like when you bored and want to take you time in getting rid of Jehovahs witnesses).It is too bad how ever that this book is a pared down version of the original which was the Authors Doctors thesis.

I found this book to be insightful and helpful in that it saves you time from having to read tons of other books and adds Dr. Carey's spin on things as well. It gives you clever anticdotes about J.W.'s and how to get rid of them if they keep bothering you. It's well written and definitely worth a read if you want to learn more about cults, religions and the myths out there too...
