In the vein of Steve Earle and Chris Knight,this record is a keeper! Lyrically and melodically, the songs are pleasing to the ear. Bunzow's writing is clever, but not cliched. Even though he would be considered alternative, there are a number of songs that should be receiving serious airplay. From "Pieces on the Ground", a beautiful ballad, to "Love is the Only Rescue", Bunzow demonstrates that he is an artist who should be taken seriously.

I have had the pleasure of being turned on to this CD by a friend who managed to get his hands on a prerelease copy. My first question after listening to it was "Where has this guy been?" John Bunzow is obviously not a newcomer to the world of music. His words suggest experiences that can only have occurred in the life of one who has "felt it all." Unlike some other rootsy projects which tend to have vocals that sound whisky-laden and cigarette-damaged, this artist's voice has the ability to be soothing like a glass of good merlot. Yet it can transform to a level both raw and gutsy. I hope to find out that there is more out there from this guy.

John Bunzow's guitar and song writing abilities are among the best in the music scene today. This is a classic of blues, rock & roll and John's own special sound. A must have CD!!

I had the pleasure of working with this guy in Nashville, TN. and the "realness" you hear in his music IS REAL! I got to experience John's edge while writing with him. He's a star and unfortunately a too well kept secret. SHOUT THE NEWS! TELL EVERYONE THEY NEED TO EXPERIENCE HIS MUSIC! You can feel every emotion he's singing! That's what music should do to you.
