If you were one of the thousands who felt violated by the Mike Warnke "scandals" of the early 90's, reading a book such as this may make you a little paranoid. But this is not sensationalism. 1.0 out of 5 stars From Fiction to Final Print: How to Sell Rubbish
It read like a cheesy suspense novel with cliché after cliché. It would be nice if this blissfully ignorant idea of Satanism (I was amused by the "coven" bit) to be God-hating were anywhere near the truth, but to each their own and to myself, a good helping of factuality.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Wake-up Call Concerning At-Risk Kids, December 3, 2005
This review is from: From Darkness to Light: How to Rescue Someone You Love from the Occult (Paperback)
If you were one of the thousands who felt violated by the Mike Warnke "scandals" of the early 90's, reading a book such as this may make you a little paranoid. But this is not sensationalism. The majority of the book is Jeff's own life story, which, as he says, is "ordinary in every way." What stands out, though, is not his frustrating childhood and family life, but his isolation in dealing with it all. His parents fought viciously, the family moved every year, and his limited experience with church was less than desirable: "No one had time for a little boy who sat alone in a pew...no one knew...no one even noticed." In addition to some great "educational" materials concerning different occult philosophies and practices, Form Darkness to Light should serve as a wake-up call concerning at-risk kids. It doesn't take a superstar to make a difference of eternal consequence, just someone who is willing to pray, care and share the love of God with others.

5.0 out of 5 stars A heads up book for Parents, February 23, 2005
This review is from: From Darkness to Light: How to Rescue Someone You Love from the Occult (Paperback)

I just read Jeff Harshbargers book, from Darkness to Light,
It was one of those books that you couldn't put down into you finished it.
The testimony of his life as a Satanist can be heart felt, and you can see how God
Can work in your life when you have no idea.
The flow of the book seems to carry you from page to page, as you read, you know this is really happening, with all the emotion,
I found myself Identifying with the range of feelings he went through, and when your done reading about his life as a Satanist, you know its for real, made me wonder how many others out there have gone or going through similar occult situations.
Which addresses the second part of the book, and myself being somewhat familiar with the occult, and now a Christian raising two 13 year olds, Jeff's approach made me think about how as a Christian single mom, do I address my children with such an accepted topic in our society today, The book goes into what subtle clues to look for, and a general view of the occult that a parent can understand, and how the most important thing is prayer.
Finally, the way Jeff wrote this book is what caught my attention, it's straightforward, and this is the way it is, yet in a loving way. You felt like he was there sitting and talking to you and telling his story and experiences with God behind every word.
And after reading Jeff's story, you know anything is possible with God.
I would recommend this book to any Parent, it's never too early to prepare
your children for life outside your homes walls, and any Pastor or Youth group leader.
If for any reason, to have your eyes open to what's going on in the real world.

5.0 out of 5 stars A BOOK THAT WILL CHANGE AND SAVE LIVES, February 28, 2005
This review is from: From Darkness to Light: How to Rescue Someone You Love from the Occult (Paperback)
A brilliant book packed with sound, straightforward and practical advice that I firmly believe will change and save lives. Having escaped from darkness, Jeff is in the ideal position to guide and advise others who are trapped in darkness.

`From Darkness to Light' shows clearly that darkness can be overcome no matter how helpless a person feels. A battle is being waged and this book will help equip those who want to have victory.

Buy a copy for yourself and a copy for a friend.

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST READ FOR YOUNG AND OLD ALIKE, February 18, 2005
By
This review is from: From Darkness to Light: How to Rescue Someone You Love from the Occult (Paperback)
I was first attracted to this book by the cover and the title, "From Darkness To Light." Who could think that a book with such a simple title could pack such a powerful punch.

I liked the fact that Jeff related to the reader as having been an actual Satanist and not someone who just read a lot about the subject and then wrote about it. In a unique way Jeff doesn't just present the subject to the reader, but he allows the reader to become part of the book. I could relate to a lot of the things that he experienced and felt while maturing into adulthood.

Farther into the book Jeff goes into the signs of people involved in Sataniam and how to get them out of it. He keeps the subject alive, unlike other authors who offer so much information that one finds onself asleep from boredom. In simple yet provoking sections the book leads the reader from subject to subject in a captivating manner, as though God had sat at the keyboard and wrote each sentence specially for each reader. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I picked up the book and didn't put it down until I finished reading the last chapter. Any author that can cause me to do that is worth reading.

I highly recommend this literary work to anyone who has either entertained fooling around with the occult or those who are immersed in it. It is also a good read for those who have loved ones who are dabbling in the same. Jeff's warning signs are very helpful because he examines the little signs given off by Satanists and others in the occult. This is a great tool for those who might have a sneaky suspicion that something isn't quite right with a family member or friend.

Finally, don't just take my word for it; buy the book and check it out for yourself. I promise that you'll be glad you spent the money and you'll be doing a great justice to both yourself and others you'll know the rest of your life.
